I cant seem to get used to the wrapping the cord around the knife handle.. i tried but I have to remove it and fix a kydex sheath instead.. I liked the idea to switch between ESEE6 and ESEE5 without changing the sheath.

don't know about you guys but how many of you stayed with the cord wrapping ? I seem to favor the speed draw..

The kydex sheath that came with mine actually has a "snap" when I put my 6 in. Almost feel like I dont even need the cord. I did find that with the TTD sheath mod it makes it a little fat and hard on the zipper. I decided to stay with the stock sheath that allows for more STUFF! An it leaves me other mounting options with a spare sheath.

I keep the cord wrapping. Anytime I'm likely to need the knife fast, I'm comfortable leaving the wrap loose. And since the five and six both see time inside, it works well for me.

oh boy.. you are so right there.. im force to go back to the original.. the zipper barely close.. the top of the sheath is a little too fat and my esee fire kit bump into it.. i got a lot of fire kit but not as sexy as the esee one. im going back to the original design .. and least i'll have the ESEE5/6 swap option again.. and around camp, will probably dont need to wrap the cord at all.. i dont plan on doing some bear grylls survival (climb and repel on everything and cliff jumping)

I never had that problem... but again I just carry basics in the ESEE pouch.
