Great looking knife Evan! Keep up the good work and best wishes on your new line of customs!:)

Love it, Evan! Can't wait to see your name in lights, brother!

Thank you all so much for the overwhelming support! I'll do my best here to answer any questions I have seen popping up about the branding and different knife "types".

Any knife that leaves my shop will be an Esnyx knife, but they fall under different "lines", if you will.

My full handmade customs will all be marked with my Esnyx stamp. These knives will have my sole authorship, meaning that I am the only person involved in the build. Nothing on these knives will be outsourced.

My ES-N-TL branding is reserved only for the short run knives I make using water jet and heat treatment services. In these knives, I design a template, have the parts water jet the sent back to me. I then drill the holes, add stamps, cut the nail nicks, clean up the profiles, surface grind, and add an initial bevel grind to them before I send out for heat treatment. In the mean time, I begin building the scales for the knives. When they return from heat treatment, the grinds will be finished, then sent back out for deep laser engraving to achieve a "stamped" look for the blade etches. Once they return, I hand sand the blades, to give them a clean, professional finish, then I assemble and finish the knives. At this point, they are completed, and ready to go.

As far as modified knives go, I will no longer be taking orders for these, as I want to dedicate all of my attention towards my customs and my ES-N-TLs. As far as the previous modified knives I have made, I like to call them "Esnyx Mods", but you can pretty much call 'em whatever you like. To answer Sarah's question, they are definitely not part of my Esnyx ES-N-TLs.

I hope to be able to release at least one short run of ES-N-TLs per month, whether they are part of a collaboration, or a project of my own.

Keep your eyes on this thread for future announcements on upcoming runs of ES-N-TLs!!

Evan...congratulations on the new collaboration. And continued success with ESNYX and of course ES-N-TL:)

For the Electric Cutlery clip blade....will the Blade etching be water jetted also and not just the tang? And monthly short runs of ES-N-TL knives:eek: You are gonna be a veery busy guy:thumbup:

Hey Steve,

The etches on the front and back of the blade will be done via deep laser engraving. The "Electric Cutlery" tang stamp, on the front of the blade, have been done using an actual stamp. My ES-N-TL "tang stamp" on the back tang of the blade will be deep laser etched. Using the deep laser etch is the closest thing we can get to having a stamped blade, like the old knives used to have. Modern high-end steels like CPM 154 are too tough to be able to produce a quality stamp on the blades, so it is necessary to reproduce the effect using other means.

Absolutely superb knives...congratulations. Oh, and that pocket slip is stunning as well.:thumbup::thumbup::)

Thanks for your thoughtful response, Evan!

I know that branding considerations can be difficult to clarify once some of the horses are out of the barn and running around (heh), especially given how quickly your (a)vocation has progressed. Your delineations above make good sense.

Exciting times. :)

I'm glad for your sake, all over again, for your timely choosing of the distinctive "ESNYX." I love how it's both an eye- and ear- catcher while reflecting your given name. Big thumbs up for having that bit o' classy nomenclature already in place as your business takes on both focus and momentum.
