This contest is what I had hoped for with all of 'em.........A lot of you pushed your own envelopes......SOOOOOO......The way I look at it everybody won this time around.......We all get in ruts about tinder and kindlings or at least I do......If I am up north I damn close to feel I can't begin to work without birch bark, around here I ALWAYS look for a cedar (junipera virginiana) so I live on a hundred acres with only one or two cedars on it.......So that got me a little more adventurous and I am currently in a fat wood rut cause I got plenty dead pines......gonna have to break some new habits into newer ones.......Anyways........Thanks to all of you for making me a happy boy.....I really enjoyed this one........
All Best......

The sulfur or Lucifer match dates back to only the 1830's and was the first portable, easy and reasonably reliable way to get an instant "ember"......Before that a "Bic" was a flint and steel kit.......
