Ethan's Spring Gathering May 18,19,20

Me and the missus, and my two brothers. Two in hammocks, and two either in bivy's or hammocks as well.

Save me a spot on the deck/pavilion.
I've been practicing my Moose thump for the middle of the night.

ETA: Moose and Derek, if you're confused by any of my edits on this post, I'm close to lit and my wife is messing with me about the dates. I'll be there.

Two, and be swingin'...:D

Jerky?

yeah, jerky. Bring lots. I'll have trade items for it. Lots of expensive, hard to find, trade items. Matter of fact, may wanna hook the trailer up and load it down with the jerky.

Yeah, bring plenty of jerky. Damn that stuff is awesome. And good for hangovers.

Me for sure, maybe the misses in a tent, maybe a hammock. Sounds like fun. What do we bring? Knives, guns, booze?

Man, I'd love to come. Maybe I can coordinate it with a visit to family in Ohio. If I can come I'll pipe up again (edit this post), and if I do show up I'll have several gallons of my homebrewed mead and a drinking horn. :-D

Bring what you like. We have strict rules about guns and booze. Individually, we love them, together, you get sent away. Immediately. No questions asked, no quarter given. Its the number one rule. We will have a rangemaster available full time, and practice the full measure of safe, when it comes to the firearms and the folks.

Other than that, you break it you bought it.

There is usually more food there, than we can eat, with a few special meals being prepared by Ethan, John and Meagan (E's son and DIL) which, if you haven't been cooked for by E, then you are in for a treat.

We will have transport up and down the hill, which is ground zero for the Gatherings.

We have about enough room for a dozen hammocks or so, and about 12 tents, give or take. We do have facilities (shithouse) on the hill.

With all that said, my standing rule when it comes to Gatherings, is I make sure I have enough provisions for me and those under my care.

So no getting there early this time Moose? Was hoping to be able to help setup.

Eh, pretty much, Ethan and Susan are only willing to entertain guests for certain period of time. I'll ask to see if he want volunteers, you never know.

For most folks coming, Friday morning is the earliest.

Derek, you've been to a few of them, so, as Ethan says, you're family.

Weird, hairy lipped Mexican family, but family none the less.

He's bringing his brothers this time. By next year, it'll be his grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, second-cousins, etc. Expect a Homeland Security raid. It'll be fun watching the burros scatter.

I should clarify. I call them brothers, but they are really just my two best friends, both of whom will have finished their third deployments at that time. I figured they could use some time camping out with some good folks and not getting shot at.

ICE and INS might start taking an interest by that point. :D

I appreciate that. I am bringing Misty though, and she is a lot nicer to look at than I am.

Well, that's assuming tradewater doesn't have a flashback.

Well I wouldn't want it to be boring for them. Besides, Trade's flashbacks keep people on their toes.

Don't sell yourself short, man. You got a number of compliments from a couple of the guys at last year's Gathering.

I've been conditioning myself to take cover at the first resound of a high cackle.
