Ethics Question - Need Advice

However, your comment about their email's "Engrish" is a racially offensive comment.

As far as stepping in something, I didn't realize this was an issue with so many people. I've actually got Asian family members who use the term. I've seen it used broadly in media and pop culture without issue. It's certainly not a smear against anyone's race. It's simply an acknowledgement of the unintentionally humorous corruption of syntax and/or grammar, which was epic in this case. (See the quoted sentence in the original post.)

Buying a Chinese clone in the first place wasn't bad enough. Accepting a discount on another one? Nah. Having a legitimate chuckle at the language? Forget anyone's "political reasons" to oppose buying Chinese knives. Now the Social Justice Police have a warrant for my arrest!

I'll try not to trigger anyone in the future...

Seems like it worked out for you, got a half off knife for the price of a small injury. Now any potential buyers can avoid the same injury, you took one for the team!

That's ok. I hope you didn't get the impression that I was calling you specifically anything, no need to be defensive at all. Just bringing to your attention that there are those who consider it offensive and I think their arguments are sound. A chuckle yes, I've gotten some instruction sheets that had me rolling on the floor. But Legitimate? Not really. Someone else clued me in to my use of terms that I didn't think "was an issue with so many people". But I learned. Just passing it on. Most of us use all kinds of terms without any ill intent. Hell my AA friends use the "N" word all the time but what would happen if I introduced myself on an internet forum using that same word? See what I mean? End of topic.

Yea, buying a MIC clone was bad to start with. Buying from a non reputable dealer was too. But I stand by my view that you were within your rights to post a review on Amazon and it's entirely up to you as to remove it or keep it there. I personally think you're doing others a good service. BTW I appreciate that you put up a review with photos. A great many Amazon reviews are fakes or useless.
We all learn from our mistakes.

My original review noted that I returned the knife. I'll leave it as is. If I end up writing a review for the CH3504, I'll be sure to mention the discount I received there. I reported the message that asked me to delete my review. I haven't heard back from Amazon but the ball is in their court now.

I'd been carrying and using Kershaw knives for many years. Just this last year, I tried some new brands. I've been very happy with Tangram, Bestech, and Civivi. At least this one was a learning experience. Thanks again for all your help.
