Ever bought a knife for wrong reasons?

Yes, the Resilience is an outstanding knife for its price point. And at various times I kept buying them, always to end up modding them into something new. But I won't speak of that much more now, because that is the right reason, and not the subject of this thread. ;)
 
- My first three PM2s - I fell for the hype and popularity.
- my next five PM2s - I convinced myself I would like them more if I changed the scales. (To be fair, that assessment was not incorrect. I do like those more...but that is not the same as liking them)

I bought a Crucarta thinking I would like it because everyone else does. The tip is in the wrong spot for me. Needs to be lower. I keep sticking myself with it. If the action on it wasn't so smooth it would probably have cement shoes at the bottom of a lake somewhere.... I may just have to regrind it down a bit.
