Have you ever bought a knife on an impulse.....if you weren't sober I think that the guys/gals on BF could understand a little easier.

I bought a ZT 560cbcf and paid a little more than I should have. Sorry I did.

Every knife i have bought in the last 5 years has been an impulse buy. Everytime i think on things for too long the opportunity disappears and i have to start over. Now i just buy blind and flip what doesnt work out.

I often have no choice but to - something will pop up on the exchange or on eBay, and I have maybe 30 seconds to do research to see if I'm overpaying or if it's a model with a history of problems. Most of the knives I end up keeping, though, aren't impulse buys. I actively hunt down the knives I want, but sometimes I get caught by surprise.

^^ Agreed. Most of my purchases are impulse buys. If I do not like or approve, I just flip.

I would say about half of my knife purchases are impulse buys. I try my best to do my homework on a knife, but like the other guys say sometimes a good deal just pops up and I've gotta move quick!

Lately most of mine have been impulse buys and then I just end up selling them as soon as I get them.

I would venture to say we all have at one time or another, If true, you are just another of the crowd. TD

Quite often. All part of the fun of the hobby, and as others said, if it ends up not being to my liking, it gets sold. No harm, no foul.

I bought a Kershaw One Ton on impulse this weekend, goodamn the pocket clip on this thing is like a finger shredder.

I seem to be a sucker for 'off the wall' or strange collaborations. Impulse all the way...... :o

Out of my 6 knives and 1 axe, 2 folders and the axe were researched and thought out ahead of time, the others were impulse buys based on what I'd been looking for but not really researching. So far my impulses have paid off :D

Most (if not all) of the knives I buy are impulse purchases. I see it, think about it, buy it.... Studying too hard takes some of the fun out of things.

The same goes for firearms at shows.
