Ever craved a cheap knife ???

I just remembered my usual EDC - a Byrd Cara Cara. It's an excellent knife. It's hard to find a good folder at that price. The other Byrds I have don't get carried as much, but the quality seems to be there. Oh yeah, I like Moras and Opinels, too.

I like to think of cheap fixed-blade knives as practice for my sheath making skills. It doesn't bother me that the sheath might be worth more than the knife. They make good re-handle projects, too.

inexpensive knives can be a blast. You can use them and use them, and if anything is left of them, put them in the kitchen. lol.
I love the Cold Steel cheap line... they are a lot of fun. The Finn Bear is my favorite. The Byrd knives are great too! I still have a couple of those.

I saw a dexter russell fish splitter & had to have one... 12" bolo w/ convex saber grind in 1/8" stock , square spine, & high carbon stainless. It chops!

A CS roach belly, a tram machete, a lauri pt blade, & a German k55k cat knife are on the list right now...

Mora's rock ! I gave my smaller Mora to my girlfriend to use in the kitchen , she loves it.

The CS Bushman , what more can be said ? I have beaten mine literally ! Split 2x4's with it , made enough wood chips to irritate my boss :D , used it in the garden and camping , she holds her edge much longer than one would expect , IMO one of the greatest knife values of all time.

I bought a CTD Bolo chopper out of curiosity and have to admit it is one tough customer but the edge needs work OOTB , at least mine did but I dont mind that at all.
I pounded it into a 4x4 and bent the tip some, the tip bent right back into place instead of breaking like I thought it would , shows some softer steel , the sheath blows... but for $12 what do ya want ? ( plus I have no qualms lending to my nieghbors )

My Onatraio 12' is a gift from heaven , one of my favorite large blades.

Opinel ?? Yeap , mine is so nice after customizing it I rarely use it , I think of it as my old fashioned Gent knife for family gatherings , etc...

Don't discount Rough Rider slipjoints , I have two and they get plenty of use , while at first I didnt really care if they got messed up somehow I find myself taking better care of them , they are both nice little knives and it's not their fault where they were made. :)

That Blackjack Bowie looks badass !
