ever "discover" a spyderco after its discontinued?

happens to me on a regular basis :( i see them but they stay under my radar until after they are discontinued.

its happened with..

-superleaf
-super hawk
-endura 3 (picked up a few recently)
-ATR
-original manix (got the manix 2 to satisfy this one)
-rock lobster
-dodo
-chinook III

and... now its the chokwe:eek: i have seen it lots while in production and always remarked at how nice it looked but never knew i needed one until now

its happened with sprint runs also. i missed out on the M4 millie by not being in the know but did pick up a SB ladybug as they were almost gone then a week later got another for good measure

anyone else ever "discover" a spyderco a little too late?
 
I was late to the party on Super Blue. But luckily found a Manbug. Turns out I didn't care for the design then I found my beloved SB Stretch. Its been out for sharpening for about two weeks now and I'm about to pull my hair out waiting. My Vg-10 version just doesn't do it for me the way SB does.
 
Citadel and the Spyderhawk. Both can be found on the secondary market today but are insanely expensive.
 
Luckily I love my LB's so while late to the game I was able to get super blue in a model I like. If I got to choose another though I'd def go with the endura

John I said super hawk but meant Spyderhawk. I would love an original matriarch to go with it. I'll get me a current production one to scratch that itch though. Something about that square back endura 3 pattern handle speaks to me
 
I was able to snag a Chokwe off a fellow brother from the north in the exchange. It has grown to be one of my favourite Spydercos in my collection.
 
I got out of knives for awhile and missed out on the Rock Lobster and Bob Lum Tanto. I got in on some Super Blue but missed what I didn't really know what I wanted... the SB Caly's.

I recently got the Leafstorm which was high on my list and it's really nice but not for me.
 
All the bloody time. Still happens on occasion. Luckily, Mr. Glesser has mentioned a new Chinook with the Powerlock in the works, so that will fill in one piece for me.
 
Found a S in an outdoors store.

Found an Ayoob Sprint in another spot.

Hunting down discontinued sprints is an exceedingly expensive hobby, especially for an international buyer like me. Most of the time nowadays I just let them slide and enjoy what I have.
 
Only got into Spydercos for about 5 years now and missed out on knives like the Phoenix, Kopas, inlayed Kiwis, S, Hossom series and much more.
 
For me, I was too late to the party for the Delica 4 Foliage green G10 and the Ti Salsa.
 
All discontinued Salt spydercos out there...I keep looking for them to pop on the great auction site, which happens from time to time at extremely expensive prices...:(
 
I really want to get my hands on a Rock Lobster. That's the only discontinued model from Spyderco that I think I want right about now.

I have a BNIB Rock Lobster that I might part with, holler if you are interested. It is mint
 
Primarily the Rock Salt (though I picked up a used Rock in VG-10 that'll do just fine for me) and the Jester in G10. A few have popped up, but I haven't jumped at then due to price. There are others I'm sure, but those two spring to mind most readily for me. I have always wanted the three-piece Bug set, though... :)
