I think i've reached the point were I'm all knifed out!

I look over the latest new threads and can't help but think there's nothing new in the knife world.

Have I out-grown the passion that I've had for knives for the past 20 years? Why do I still read some of these threads?

Is it possible to be a "blade junkie"?

knifed-out would be like being money'd-out.. IMPOSSIBLE!

i still have to get a crawford perfigo, terzuola atcf, duncan aftershock, cook lochsa, martin avenger, hinderer firetac, brend subhilt model 2, lightfoot nightstrike, emerson cqc11, duncan monster max, pirela vorax, & the list goes on. once i own all these, i'll let you know if i'm knifed-out.

For the last month or so I have been knifed out. There's nothing out there that interests me and I have even lost interest in making them. In a way it's good for me as now I'm concentrating on other interests like upgrading and customizing my firearms and purchasing new tactical gear and accessories.

I have so many interests, I'm always teeter-tottering back and forth. In a few months I'm sure I'll be back into the knife thing again in full force.

I'm a little bored with my EDC stuff. I have a BM pinnacle (750S) that I love, but its about worn out. Lock goes clear across now (took a lot of abuse to get it there). And I really like carrying knives I made over production knives anyway. Made myself a hefty framelock to replace it, but its plain edge and doesn't work quite as well for some stuff as the combo edge. I hate making serrated knives though, and have too many orders and stuff to finish before making anything for myself.
So I figured I'd buy myself something cool. I can't find anything though. Entertaining thoughts of either a BM 710S or a combo edge spyderco military, but then I tell myself its stupid to buy $100 knife that I'll probably quit carrying as soon as I get time to make myself something different

I might go pick up a $30 Buck 110 and give it a little bit of a make over though :D

I thought I was knifed out after my last purchase... but then another knife caught my eye and now I can stop thinking about it. I WANT to be knifed out .. I NEED to be knifed out! Somehow there's always ONE MORE that I need!

After about 90 knives, I better be getting knifed out, or else I'm going to be thrown out by my wife.

I CAN HELP!!!!!!!

Send me all your knives! In return I will send you back 20. USD and mention your name at least once with family present.

Now you don't get an offer like this everyday!

And BTW he official answer is no. It is not possible to get knifed out. Just think of females, or beer or chocolate. Sure you can get overloaded, maybe even swear them off. But next thing you know...

Address upon request.

I think I have all of the fancy expensive fluff I need. I'm looking for users. My wife bought me a really nice 'drawer queen' for Christmas, so I'm looking for a Li'l Temperance to actually do some cutting and chores.

It seems my entire EDC rotation now is hard users, and I might need that trait maybe once per month.

Im knifed out.... I cant seem to find any knives that live up to either a Sebenza or a Mayo,..or even a Mayo'd Sebenza. So Ive taken up Bali's...Then I got a BM42..ok that quest is over.. Just waiting for some new knives that seem to be way out there on the horizon(ie. Spyderfly, and BM Blackwood collabo)

I can get knifed out on occasion. When that happens I go back to spending money on guns. Then I become gunned out and go back to spending money on knives.

It's a vicious cycle!

This is a good thread because I have been feeling "knifed out" for a while now. Ever since I bought my first Strider (an AR) I have had no desire to buy any more. I really do believe that my personal search for the perfect EDC is over. Unfortunately, I look at the rest of my collection just sit there. I am one to use my knives and it seems like a waste that I just seem to use the same knife all the time. I have bought into the trends and fads over the years but right now there is not much on the market that is making me do cart wheels over. However, that being said, I still surf the knife forums each day to keep up to date on the new info and trends that are out there. Am I done collecting? Absolutely not! At this point I am just "taking a break" and enjoying the ones I have already. Eventually I will see a knife out there that I simply "must have" and the cycle will begin again.:D

Been knifed out for a while now. I just can't justify spending money on a knife that won't do anything my other knives won't do. Until I wear out some of the ones I have now, I'm not buying any more. When my Godson (that makes me the Godfather :D ) and my daughter get old enough, I'll start giving my users to them. I have a few years to go though. Godson is 18months old and daughter is 4 months old. :)

Sometimes I get knifed out for short periods, but often some use or other comes up that re-energizes me. Most recently, I started training in defensive knife systems -- if I'm a knife knut, I might as well know how to use the damn things in all manner, right? And training has led me to pursue types of knives that I hadn't considered that seriously before. And furthermore, a bunch of knives that I have that you'd think would be great for defensive use now turn out not to be so great, due to the particularities of the grip I use. Voila! Brand new interest opening up, with brand new knife characteristics.

A few months ago I decided that I end up putzing around the property breaking down boxes and randomly trimming plants often enough that I wanted the best knife possible for it. Looking for such a knife was a blast. I decided a fixed blade and neck carry (with other carry options possible) would be best. The knife should be incredible easy to draw and very stable in the hand, so I started looking at things like Fred Perrin's knives. Ultimately, my quest ended with one of Frontsight's Hideaway's, because not only did it fit the bill overall, but the design lets me open my hand and use my fingers to manipulate things without putting the knife down, and then close my hand to cut again (!!!). Wonderful resolution, but of course the search for ever-improving solutions is 90% of the fun.

A bunch of years ago, I became intensely interested in light high-performance utility and camp knives. Ultimately I designed the TTKK as a best solution for me, but I had fun buying and using other knives that fit the bill for this kind of thing, too.

You designed that knife? Kewl!

Collector,

Whatever compulsion drove you to spend too much time, money, and energy on acquiring beyond you wants and needs will return. It will return and make up for this temporary lull in your collecting enthusiasm. Depending on your opinion of this obsession, fear not or be in constant fear.

I go through cycles. Knives, guitars, woodcarving supplies, drawing/painting & art supplies, even juggling. Get bored with one (temporarily), move onto another. Just go round and round and round... I wish I had a dizzy smiley to put here. :)

I'm temporarily knifed-out on production blades. (Ahulll be baaaaacccck.) But I'm waiting in line for a custom. Meanwhile, it's time for a new Glock and accessories.

Hey, I didn't get that first "T" there for nothing :) Aside from his artisanship bringing it all to life, Trace obviously put his own interpretation on what I described, particularly the handle, where he met the requirements (bird's beak, palm swell) in a unique way.
