Ever get picked on for being a knife nut?

I don't get picked on for the knives themselves but more so the price of the knives.

My friend held my Bark River and asked how much it was. I told him $165 and he choked!!!

Then I told him if you don't drink Starbucks for 6 months you can buy two!

The ones who make the most negative comments are most often the ones who always seem to need something cut.

That's so true!

Sometimes people are a bit surprised, but I usually look presentable to most people so they aren't that scared. My buddies like to joke about me because they carry crap folders while I have at least two "expensive" knives on me :p

Happens relatively often since I live in California. If something needs to be cut, I whip it out. So many times, I've gotten an "Oh my God," followed with lots of whispering to other people. The worst part is that I don't even carry anything the least bit tactical. Wooden handles, small blade, even slipjoints. As if I can really go on a cutting spree with an SAK.

My current girlfriend when we first met thought my knives were weird, but always had a curiosity towards them. I ended up asking her what she thought about them last night and she told me, that she feels safer since I normally carry a knife, and that she would feel safer if she carried a knife, yes there will be a small sebenza gifted to her soon enough guys.

Anyways I don't usually get negative comments on having a knife, occasionally I get the wow you have a knife on you, but usually the people I associate with can understand the usefulness, after all they did need something cut.

So True:rolleyes::rolleyes::D

I have it happen more with flashlights than knives, but I do have a lot of family members and friends who know that I typically always have knives, a multitool, pen, lighter, etc on my person. I don't get picked on too much, but I don't always offer my knives/tools either, depending on where I'm at and who I'm with.

ALL the time it seems like. Just the other day I needed to open a box, so I took out my knife and opened it. Later on I was informed that one of my co workers might have been scared to see me do that. Good grief, if you can't open a box without being politically incorrect what is the world coming to?

Quit your whining, everyone. You have nothing on those guys that carry HP calculators.

All the time:(

Never. In fact, the only time anyone had anything to say, other than thanks for cutting something, was that he was inspired by my example to do the same.

What kind of people do you hang out with? Why do you continue? :D

I get picked on at work to sharpen most of our guys knives for them. HELP!!

Can't help ya out. I get enough of "would you mind putting a scary edge on
this knife for me".
Of course it's hard to turn a good friend down, so............
