Ever had a knife stolen? I did...

I had a dozen Press Buttons, Flylocks and Prestos stole when my house was broken into. Just moved in and was still sorting things out. Irreplaceable mint examples. Bad timing. Checked all the pawn shops but nobody new anything. That's what I expected.

I also donated 37 mint Switchblades to the NKCA Museum and was informed they were stolen during the move from Chattanooga to Sevierville. There were a total of 4000 knives out of 11000 that went missing.
I'm told by a reliable source. I suspect an inside job.

Benchmade, not Benchmark. They are 2 different companies.
The incident might not have been random. It may have been done by a person you know. Busting out all your windows is not something typically done by random thieves.

My iPhone autocorrects Benchmade to Benchmark sometimes.

I had my truck broken into at 4 in the morning awhile back. Two kids that I saw running down the street with my briefcase which had a Spyderco serrated Ayoob in it. I had looked for a long time for it before I finally found one. Police showed up - he was somewhat amazed that I didn't chase them down - they looked like a couple of deer steaking down the street - Me, overweight and out of shape standing there in my shorts barefoot. "Well, why didn't you chase them down in your truck?" With the front seat covered in glass. I always check the pockets of the tall kids standing in line at the gas station.

An aluminum Beretta Airlight, about 13 years ago, from my girlfriend's house.

I know who took it, and I still don't like them.

Yeah, I worked construction for part of a summer when I was thirteen and saved up for a Cold Steel Mini Outdoorsman that I had been drooling over. It was the coolest knife ever in my eyes and served as my go-to blade for everything until my early twenties when a friend's acquaintance walked off with it (first time I'd met the acquaintance). Hadn't done any hiking in a bit so it took a week until I figured it out and the only person who didn't have my implicit trust that had been there was that guy (who had moved on out of town by that time).

I had a brand new $400 Paul Beebe Custom stolen out of my glovebox last year. I had just picked it up from the post office too. Same buggers came back a couple of months later, broke window and stole about $2k in gear: GPS, sat radio, pack with some of my SAR gear

If anyone sees one like this up for sale but in black linen micarta let me know!

I was just getting into knives and my first purchase was a spyderco police model ats-55 . I boughts for 69.99 and by far the most expensive blade by far that i ever owned. I left it in the box with my lunch at work and no only did someone eat my lunch but took my spyderco and left me the empty box .Till this day i watch for a coworker to use that blade at work.

Wow, lots of sad stories :\ mostly I keep my knives on person so unless someone tries to steal it off my belt, good luck. Only really valuable thing I've ever had stolen was a guitar, it sucked but ended up getting a way better one. Thanks crackhead!

I hope the thief bleeds from your knife.

I call my homeowners insurance company often to get updates on what is covered. I video and take pics of every knife/accessory I own. The NRA has insurance for firearms, with a 100 dollar deductable so you don't have to use your homeowners 1000 dollar deductable. Maybe someone should make something like this for the blade community?

I've been there, and it wasn't just a knife and multitool I had stolen.. It was a cousin of mine too. Bastard. He even stole my work tools, out of the back of my truck. What a weenie. Anymore, I don't keep anything. Gave away my last two knives just a bit ago.

Yes, by someone from the USPS.

I bought a BM Skirmish from a guy on JD a few years ago. I paid for insurance on the knife, like I always do. When I took the box with the knife(that was supposed

to be in it),out of the mail box it was Empty. Someone from the USPS stole my Skirmish.

The guy I bought the knife from refunded my $ a few days later. He had to hassle with the po to get his $ back from them.

If only there was a car alarm equivalent for knives. :D Personally I can't remember a time where I had a knife stolen, since I carry most of the knives I own on my person, and only take them off where I know they'll be safe and I trust the people around me. I really need to pick up a safe to keep them in at my house..

I had a similar experience with my lunch being stolen for 3 days in a row. On day 4, I crushed up 10 X-Lax tablets and sprinkled them onto my sandwich. Surprisingly, from day 5 on I never had my lunch stolen. I never had a knife stolen though, I've been lucky so far.

I have a past you could say. In that past I associated with some less than stand up individuals. A couple of them I caught attempting to distract me while another tried to pocket a knife. They didnt succeed but they tried.

Somebody stole a vintage Gerber multi tool from my house, I guess it was a visitor that saw it laying somewhere and pocketed it. I was pissed off because I really liked that multi tool.....Gerber knives kinda suck but their multi tools do not suck IMO.

And after having other things stolen from my truck I never leave any knives sitting in my truck over night.

My best friend stole my Boy Scout knife. That was painful. Later, when I was in college, someone at a fitness club got into my locker and stole my custom Buck 503. It had stag scales and was a real beauty. I prized that knife.

When I was 15 my girlfriend gave me a Marine Corps K-Bar for my birthday.
It was stolen 3 years later and there has been a hole in my heart ever since.

My house was broken in once they took a bunch of my knives. I was young at the time and most were fairly cheap. Anyways insurance gave me some money and I was able to buy a few more expensive knives, worked out ok but some of the knives were setimental.
