I bought one of these knives from a vendor at a flea market NEW for $20 coupla years ago.
Sheath isn't very impressive but the blade is full tang and holds a decent edge.
For a inexpensive ____ knife it's not really THAT bad IMHO.

They are made to have several different graphics on em.
Mine is exactly like this but says something different.

The Byrd Cara Cara with G10 and SS liners is a hell of a knife for $30. Easy to wave mod too.

I got this knife and sheath for a whole $13. one of the highest value knives i have ever encountered.

Some years ago my friend bought a MTech knock-off Trail-Master. He beat the hell out of it and it took it no problem. That thing must have lasted him a few years (which is a big deal for him) until he broke it at the guard throwing at a tree. He was so bummed!

Fast forward a few years: I was at the same flea market when I seen another one. His birthday was coming up, and with a $20 price tag.... Needless to say he was as happy as a tornado in a trailer park. A few weeks later I invited him out for a Bon fire. He was messing around battoning a piece of Very strait grained semi-seasoned cherry, when the knife blade literally snapped in half!

bummer.....

I wouldn't call it a "cheapo" exactly, but it retails for fifty, and is worth eighty.

If somebody sees Cougar Allen, tell him I found a larger picture....

Impressed with a cheap knife? No. Never.

Impressed with an inexpensive knife? Quite often.

Potato, potato. There is a difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive". But the implication, in this case, is the same.

A knife which is well built, endures. At any price point. I purchased the Cryo on the recommendation of other BF members, and I am quite pleased with it. I believe that it's value is higher than it's purchase price, and that is the difference.

Cold Steel Roach Belly. Originally bought one of these for my girlfriend, and liked it so much I bought one myself. Cost next to nothing.

Lots of times! I mean a 110 only goes for $35 i think and its an awesome blade, when i got mine i was floored  also i just picked up a boker plus knife (kinda lookgs like a gec 42/72 but its even bigger) This thing is also awesome! Lockback is bigger than the 110 and locks up even better with no blade play at all. Its 440c and the bubinga wood did come a little raw but some 2000 grit sandpaper finishes it great!
Here's a pic:

I have read a lotta positives about this knife here at BF.....
I might just buy one for the hellovit!
Is it one knife in particular or the name brand?
What I'm saying is are all the other knives by this maker excel in quality for the buck?

Camillus 7.25" g10/vg10. Very smooth, very solid for 50$. I have the 6.75" one also and it's almost just as neat.

All Moras are great for the price as far as I am concerned. First thing I thought of when I read the thread title. Though I wouldn't consider it a "cheapo" knife.

many, many times...Mora, Opinel, Old Hickory, Rat 1...and more.

In fact in the last 10+ yrs I think I can count on one hand the blades I've paid more than $30 for. The few times I've been disappointed its been the higher priced knives.

well the Becker BK11 and 14 are only about 30 off amazon, i havent actually even touched one yet but i hear they're great and i got a 14 comming in the mail :P

mora makes good knives that carry a low price tag. the picture i posted is the stainless mora companion MG. the handle is rubbery and very non slip, and it locks into the sheath well.

by the way, i just ordered two stainless mora companion MG's and a stainless opinel #8 from baryonyxknife.com (the owner is a member here) and each knife was a hair under thirteen dollars :)
