Ever impressed with a inexpensive knife?

Yeah, big time. There are Moras, of course, but I really like the cheaper overseas knives put out by major reputable manufacturers such as Kershaw, Spyderco, CKRT, etc. Nothing wrong with a cheaper knife so long as it has a decent blade profile, handle design, and quality control.

And no, it is NOT a Sebenza knockoff.
...Umm, if you guys want to buy knockoff designs made in China and carry them and such now that China made knives are higher quality, that's fine. But refusing to acknowledge them as knockoffs is a bit insulting.

The Sanranmu 710 is a a classic Sebenza handle with a regular Sebenza blade. It is a complete rip off of the Sebenza design. Period.

Buck 286 and the Opinel #8... excellent values for light duty.

My favourite knives have always been Moras... own one and you will wonder why you paid so much more for any other knife with the exception of my Fallkniven F1 which does not fall into the inexpensive category.

These are Jonsson made which are identical to the Frost and Erikson and Mora is where these knives have been made for something like 300 years... both are new but I stripped one of the handles.

Mora and victorinox. Hard to beat for an inexpensive, quality, usefull, product. Faron

I got my dad a sanrenmu 710 for one of his bday gifts. He needed a new work knife. He opened it up and said he would be afraid to use it because it was so nice. I said " no..no you dont understand.:)

I have to say my Spydrco Persistence, and Opinel #7. I underestimated the quality/uses of the Opinel but have used it almost daily since getting it. As for the Persistence..its fits my hand well and is a comfort to carry, and as become my edc.

My Ontario Rat 1 and CRKT -16's have all really impressed me. They have also proved themselves to be much better than any of my crap Emersons.

Ummm...OK, sure.

I stand by my statement. I once went through an Emerson craze back when I was a little newer to knives. Then I realized that all of the 9 Emersons I owned were severely overpriced for what they truly were. Aside to that I had problems with a few of them like blades being off center, pivot screws loosening up every time I opened the blade a few times, and liner locks wearing out too fast and traveling all the way through thus causing vertical blade play. A lot of my sub $50.00 folders have proven themselves to last longer and have a better overall f&f than my Emersons. I am not exaggerating or bs'ing anyone.

Emersons are garbage for the absurd prices they're listed at. There are much and I truly mean MUCH better choices out there for that kind of money. Needless to say I sold all my Emersons a long time ago and will never buy one again. (unless it's a CQC-12.)

Mines My K55K Mercator, had it since the mid 90's it been a crow bar, screw driver, hacked, slashed, stabbed and bashed, Still use it everyday, shaven sharp.Think I paided NZD$25 back then, how much do you guys pay for them in the US?

I just picked up a NIB Cold Steel American Lawman for $40 shipped on the auction site. It arrived today.

Razor sharp out of the box, no blade play, centered blade in the handle, crazy solid lock up, very nice quality on the rounded G10 handles. It's geniunely a relatively flawless knife for 40 bucks. I'm extremely impressed.

Yeah I also removed the lanyard thingy which means the stupid plastic end spacer fall out, the one the blade tip hits when the knife is closed and ruins the tip edge. Kris

I agree on the value of many of the Scandi knives. There are dirt cheap and very sharp & are very easy to keep sharp.

The inexpensive knife that has been carried and used by more American LEOs, soldiers, bikers, sportsman and you name it is the Buck 110. For a couple of dollars you can buy a detachable thumb stud for one handed opening. It's hand heavy, with a pommel should it be needed. They are extremely solid and you'd have to work to break one. They take and keep a sharp enough edge without too much trouble. $25-30 on sale someplace always.

For $25.00 US ya just can't beat a W.R. Case Sod buster Jr. with CV blade. Very reasonable and useful..

My little Enlan F723. Love that little thing.

And my Condor's, Mora, Imacasa, and my new Old Hickory.

I picked up one of these after watching one of my favorite guys on youtube do a review on it. Locks up solid as a rock and seems very durable. It just hasn't found it's way into my pocket very many times. Not sure why. Maybe because I prefer one-hand openers.

Probably the most supprising knife I've really tested is the Enlan EL02 with micarta scales that I got for like $13. I picked up like 20 Enlan/SRM/Bee/Ganzo/Navy knives to check out. I chose the EL02 as the knife that I was going to torture test. I didn't test it to destruction, but I used it HARD for about 2 weeks. Other than needing the edge touched up a few times (What can you expect from 8CR13MOV?), and the pivot needing tightened, it was good as new once I was done. I DID have to make a custom pivot tool, which was a pain. But the knife held up wonderfully.
