Ever regret not getting a knife?

I was at the NY ECCKS show this year and out of no where appeared this set of Shiva Ki blades at a table. The first time I had seen or heard of Shiva Ki was from my blade brother J Paranee. I went to Shiva's web site to check out his blades and what caught my eye the most was his Mercinary blade. So at this table there it was in real life. It was the larger version with an 11 inch blade. It was like holding a small sword. It had everything a warrior would want to survive with a sharpened clip and nasty lookin skull crusher. And guess what I didn't get it  ! Now all I do is think about it like a long lost girl friend. One day I'll get another chance

Yup, at the last Dutch Knife Exhibition there was a maker selling beautifull forged damascus blades. I picked one up and was really tempted....

Last week I saw a picture of EXACTLY that blade because it'd won the prize for best damascus knife at that show....

And I still want one like it. However the maker doesn't have a website and I can't find any contact details. So I'll have to wait untill next year.

I passed up a dusty, new old stock Benchmade 705 for $95 a few years back. I just don't like the 707. I kick myself for that one daily.

Then I decided not to get a third version Delica, then the D4 came out and I don't like it. But at least D3s are still pretty common.

I've kicked myself plenty for not picking up a blue plainedge dodo a few years back. :(

Oh yeah! :(

I can think of a number of now OOP production knives that I wish I had bought when I had the chance. The Spyderco Yojimbo, Lum Folding Tanto, and Boker Smatchet are probably on the top of my "if I ever find one I can afford now" shopping list. :o

I really missed out on a deal some time back in the early mid 1980's to purchase a Sog Team Leader. It was a beautiful huge lock back and the price was not that unreasonable. The knife is worth alot of money today.

At Blade several years ago I kept going back to Bobby
Branton's table looking at a Branton/Brend boot knife (Model #5, IIRC). Finally decided not to buy it. My wife was standing at my elbow saying, "If you don't buy it now while you have the chance, you'll regret it later." She was so right!

I also regret not ordering a Ray Cover slip-joint when I had the chance.

Ah, yes. The dreaded double post. Senility is hell. (But you do meet so many nice new people.)

I passed on a Tony Bose with a single wharncliff blade and carbon fiber handle a couple of years ago. The price was right but I passed and I kick myself in the butt daily for not taking it.

Missed a great deal on ebay...a Case 6232 1970 year, model 6232 with gorgeous red bone handles that where flawless. Had an insane "Buy it Now" price, got up, walked into the kitchen (10-15 seconds tops) came back sat down---BAM it was gone, damn, damn, damn:mad:

Not the first time and sure it won't be the last:D

busse fusion bm. It was the only knife they had for sale at when I started becoming interested in them but I thought naa I don't need one that big.Really wish I would have gotten one

Regret not buying a knife... Boy, do I. In the late 70's I came into $1200 bucks from a small inheritance from an aunt. I came extremely close to ordering a Loveless Big Bear for $750 dollars. Being young and dumb and not wanting to wait for the Big Bear I spent the money on some guns and a Jimmy Lile folder I bought from him at a gun show in Dallas. The Lile folder has been a great knife and still locks up tight as a drum after 30 years - it's in excellent condition and probably worth 2, maybe 3 times what I gave for it. Unfortunately for me, Loveless knives have skyrocketed in value and it's not uncommon to see a mint Big Bear priced at over $20,000 bucks. Just my luck.:grumpy:

Sure. To name a few recent ones: Busse NMSFNO LE, Busse NMSFNO with G-10 handles, and Swamprat M9 LE.

And I wish I had bought more from the now-bankrupt Lakota knives. Excellent knives for their value.

And I wish I had bought more Fällknivens before their 35% price increase.

Plenty of times. I almost always end up getting it later and spending more money on it.

I really regret not buying a back-up Microtech LCC D/A. The one I have now is still in great shape, and I'm sure it will last another 10 years, but to find a LCC D/A for $189 again is a pipe dream.

I also wish I had gotten a Hinderer XM-18 when they were still available for $350.

DDRalph Appogee, $425.

There's more, but I'm getting too upset thinking about them all.

I had the opportunity to get a Timascus Lochsa, and I didn't. I still regret NOT getting it!

Right here on the forums I missed buying the V-TAC that was featured on Weaponology.Man I'm a huge fan of that show and I totally regret not jumping on that one when I had the chance.
