Ever seen this on a 110 before?

Well...I know Corian is tuff...but I figured if a Buck has inlays made by Levi's it's gotta be tough AND stylish!!!!
I think we should start a FUGLY 110 thread to see who has the worst looking rat Buck (as a fellow forum member mentioned)...

mfinden,

I certainly hope that you or some one else won't start that kind of thread..IMO...it does no one any real good. I know you have a great sense of humor and I appreciate it. The only real ugly Bucks are those that have not been taken care of/abused, etc. The picture of the one you posted is a handsome looking one and one I think worthy of being looked at. Preston

Yeah, Preston, I agree. A thread of abused knives would be a waste...and then I would feel compelled to pay for membership here instead of freeloading on this forum's disk space. I may sign up anyway, just to show support.
Besides, I've seen enuf beat up knives at flea markets and garage sales that bring a tear to my eye as it is.
Anyway, yep, I was always the kid that sat in the back of the room and then by the end of the first week of class I was right up front of the teacher.

Hey Scott. I have that one book marked for a bid attempt. I was with SDPD from 1973 through 1981 and that old building shown on the knife has a lot of meaning to me (as well as all the folks I carted down there against their will) I would really like to have it for my collection.

That is a beautiful knife. Like the polished blade and pretty cool that it has the year you left SDPD.
Love San Diego...I used to go down to Chula Vista once a month for work at one of the aerospace firms. Did that for a bit over a year. Would spend time in SD of course. When I was a kid, dad did a tour at Pt. Mugu and we would go to SD often to see friends.
My dad had lots of Navy buds that retired there (he retired in Everett, WA since he grew up in Bummertown).
Anyway, hope you get it Mike!!!!!
Warm Regards,
Marvin.

I won't bid against you on that one Mike, it would show better in your collection:thumbup:
Thanks Scott. What is your ebay name? I'd like to be able to show you the same courtesy some time.

It is just that Chickentrax. When I would go camping I used those iron on patches for denim and a very thin layer of clear and flexible contact glue to hold the cloth to the wood inlays. Why? To keep the knife from slipping when wet (cooking, fishing, etc). That was back in the day when I didn't have the smarts (or $$) to get another good knife. Always the 110...it would last a weekend of medium use and the glue just peeled off w/o leaving any residue.
Now I would use my rubber gripped Vanguard.
I took this pic today after I read about the functionality of the corian 110 and recalled what I used to do as a young buck. Oh the folly of youth...sounds crazy and looks goofy but it really worked!!

I will be watching it, but only with the hopes that Mike gets it. He earned it IMO.

Regards to all...

...I never bid against someone I know is in the forum...That's just common courtesy and common sense for me. More than once I've purchased knives from forum members who knew I was looking for something specific. One fella actually got a knife on Ebay that he sold to me for just what he paid for it. This forum is a tight knit buncha guys... Hope ya get that 110 Mike...

<whew!> That's a relief! I thought it was some crazy promotional thing that Levis or Lee had come up with...

I think VW or AMC had some kind of seatcover in denim some time back...Maybe you could find a Bug or Gremlin to match your knife... ;) :D

it is great to be here with ALL you
knife nuts!! thanks for all the well wishs!
Hay that iron on thingy sounds like a great idear!!
i also like the notion of an ugly buck thread >> any one got the guts to start it ? then we can see how some have surived and wander what they have been through! Yea you could even call it surviver bucks , could'nt we?

any thing that can be used as a scale material is allowed and falls in with to each his own preferance or jest because you can!...

yea i enjoy bidding and hope to kick a-- !
( jest kidding now guys ! i back off lots of times my self :D )

Y ou know something>>>
i used to wander who was realy there... behind the bid,,, why they wanted this the same or more then i did, what made it worth more to them then it was to me.... and most importantly -what else did they have  ?...

i needed to know more>>>
so i went to a knife show in Va. and loardy i seen what some have !!!
and i wanted MORE...
OMG i had cought a bad case of Buck feaver!!!! and for while i was watching ebay and getting nerviours... jest like some hunter with that trophy Buck in his sights  , and he is jest starting to squease the triger not un-like myself standing ready to hit the enter button on the last seckon snipe>>>
the hunter squeases jest as i hit the enter key and I, jest as He hopes his shot will also score and we both awate the results ... did i bid true ? did i win? i hit the refrish key and awate for the answer jest as that buck hunter would wate for the smoke to clear from his shot to find out if his skill had also been true enught...

oh man i need to stop but i cant ...
driven to hunt is what buck feaver will do to you...
such a thing to happen ...
to catch buck feaver...
