After trying tons of different patterns I've pretty much stuck to large stockmans and single blades (sod buster or #73) what are your favorite EDC patterns?

Stockman.
I keep exploring other patterns to see if there is something else I prefer, but I keep coming back to the stockman pattern as the one I like best.

I really like Stockman knives. Most of my Every Day Carry knives are Stockman design. They are very functional and have a classic look and feel to them. The small sheepsfoot blade is ideal for detail carving on whittling projects as well. A close second is the trapper. My grandpa used to carry a trapper.

Hard to say, I still need to try out a lot, but two blade jacks and pens seem to be it so far.

I'm not happy unless I have a three blade knife in my pocket. Either a Railsplitter, Cattle Knife, or a Stockman. I usually carry a secondary knife in my watch pocket which could be any knife in my collection but the pictured knives below are my most often carried patterns.

Queen Railsplitter. The chunky frame, D2 steel, and pinned shield are hard for me to resist.

Case/Bose Cattle Knife. Another all time favorite with its unique frame, 154CM steel. and half stops on all three blades.

And the Case 63090 pattern.

Stockman for me. Tried jacks, pens, trappers and a swayback but always end up where I started.

Large stockman patttern (4" - 4.25" or so) has been my standard, and is always the first one to drop without hesitation into the pocket each day. Currently, it's a Case 6375 CV in Amber Bone. I've also liked carrying my Schrade USA 8OT.

Stockman for me also with improved trapper coming in a close second. Nice sized singles with drop or clip come in third.

Another vote for stockmans. I carried the same Uncle Henry exclusively for over 30 years. Now, it's a small Queen, although I do carry a Beer Scout or Alox Cadet in the other pocket. Barlows have always been another favorite of mine.

With my experiences so far, I've gravitated towards Peanuts and small(er) bare head jacks/Barlows. I find that if I want to carry something in particular, I have to force myself to carry it in addition to my Peanut and #14 TC.

I wish I could answer this question. It would make my life so much simpler!;)

If I had to pick one pattern it would probably have to be the Wharncliff Trapper. The thinly ground clip blade for slicing and when some belly is needed. The stouter pointy Wharncliff blade for the more utilitarian tasks.

That being said I find myself carrying a single blade Lanny's Clip about half the time. It does pretty much what I need to do on any given day. The particular Cramer LC that I carry is the most comfortable knife to use that I own or have tried.

The particulars of a well made knife can out weigh the functionality of lesser knives to me. I think I found the perfect one for me, but the hunt never ends.

Yep, a stockman of some kind usually for me as well. Usually the GEC 53 for going out bush, and the Queen No. 9 for odd jobs around the house.

The two bladed jack gets some play too, but nowhere near the total usage time of various types of Stockman knives.

Scouts, scouts and more scouts. The thought of not carrying a knife with a cap lifter is anathema to me.

single blade trapper, well single blade sleeve board barlow, single blade stuff, I like one blade on my knives, one blade to a handle usually :D

No, I have never settled on a single pattern for daily carry. 2-blade jacks, 3-blade stockmen, and Victorinox camper-type knives of varying sizes are the most common, along with the occasional single-blade trapper and sodbuster patterns. I usually leave a couple of knives in the car and a few in my work bag so I have a variety nearby at any time. Peanut in my pocket. No sense to leave them all on the shelf or in the drawer.
