You can take the dirty jokes to W&C where I will appreciate them greatly.

So it happens sometimes that I'm out and about and reach for my knife, thinking I know what knife is coming out of my pocket, but I'm surprised to find it's a different knife from my arsenal.
This happened to me yesterday where I expected to produce an Opinel #6 but I found my Case large stockman instead.
I think back to earlier that morning and then I remember how I made the choice I made and it all makes sense.
Only once was it a case where I just picked up a knife without looking.

Does this ever happen to you?

Very, very occasionally. I stick to the same stuff and don’t rotate much, but there’s been a time or two I thought I was pulling out my Endura and it was my Griptilian. Or vice versa.

naw. as I knife up in the morning so always know what I got on me that day.

edit part.......when I have to fly I tend to leave my Buck 110 at home and I'm used to carrying a 110 on my belt. I have tried to grab at it for cutting use, til I remembered I dont have it with me......

This is my situation as well. I've considered checking a bag, just so I can drop a knife in there. I've also considered checking a bag with ONLY a knife in there, since most of the stuff I keep in my carry-on backpack.

I will sometimes forget I swapped out a knife during the evening and then pull my pants on the next day. Today I was expecting to pull out a Boker brass Club, and out came a white bone Boker gentleman's lockback. Both are about the same size and fit in my fifth pocket.

I remembered that last night I was cleaning and oiling the carbon blade of the Club and left it to dry on the nightstand. I slipped the little gentleman's in there instead in case i needed to cut something.

It was more that up to the task of slicing my pear:P

That hasn't happened in my pocket yet, but I have opened my dresser and found a knife I forgot about. Maybe once or twice.

My version of this is being surprised that I don't have one in my pocket.

I was on the opposite coast for most of December and it seemed like I spent most of it reaching for a knife that wasn't there.

Getting older... forgetting about what's in my pockets... passing it off as an "enthusiast issue" which is clearly not shared by many enthusiasts, so now I'm looking into retirement homes with dementia wards.

I was worried you disappeared out to the wood line. Good to see you
don't worry, Dan. whatever ya got in your pocket can still open your bag of chips....if ya forget your axe of course.....

Well, before you lose all your memory, send me a few axes! Also, my cheeks are A ok, fret not. 😀
