Everybody ok after the snow

Reading this thread reinforces my conviction that when I moved from New England to the coastal Pacific Northwest 30 years ago it was not a mistake. Although I do admit I miss springtime in New England and the fall. I try to get back there for a visit during those times of years.

Today
Cloudy with light rain developing by midday. Highs in the mid to upper 40s. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

If I want snow, I just go up the mountains.

Looks like it's over here, I hope, we already had almost 30" and there's at least another foot on top of that now. And we're supposed to get more on monday, yipee!

We got off easy-got about 6" so far with maybe 1-2 coming-plowed twice just to keep up-still got power and winds arent real strong:thumbup:

Feel bad for you guys on the coast-hope all goes well:)

ps-glad your booze and bacci are holdin up jacknife:D

North Jersey finally got snow, seems to have shut down the area. I don't even hear any plows going by. I wouldn't know -- it's warm and dry inside. :)

I drove through Vineland yesterday on my way home. THey have the worst plow people in the world. This was before the storm, they weren't even plowed from the last one yet. There were roads that usually have two turn lanes with only one lane open, and we're talking about major roads not little backroads so all of the lights were backed up about a mile. There were icebergs right in the middle of the street and they didn't bother to clear the sidewalks so people were walking right in the middle of traffic, all of whom were in a big hurry to get home before the big bad blizzard hit. This was at 4:30, the storm started at around 6:30. :p

Dang guys, I don't know how you can handle that stuff, I start complaining about the "cold" when it gets down to the 40's. Right now here, it's in the middle to upper 60's and forcast to hit 70 this weekend. Harley time!

Whe the temp hits 40, I can't wear my parka or I overheat, and I hate switching overcoats in midseason.

I just went outside, snow filtering down, small flakes, nothing on the back porch, people walking through light drifts along the road. Not the worst, we aren't in trouble here, although it's the most this season.

Good thinking to close businesses, though, keep people off the roads.

Man that has been us for the past two years so this year put a dozer blade on my lawn tractor and stocked up on show shovels (broke 4 last year) and lo and behold we have no snow in North Idaho.

Spring already got here with no end in sight although sometimes we can still get a major storm or two as late as May (but with the longer days the snow just can not smother the ground for too long)

CJ, you can stay at my house and I'll treat you like a king if you bring your good luck no snow tractor with ya.:D

Down here in Ocala Florida we got a day or two of rain and a few cool/cold nights.... In early January the kids said there was a 1/4" dusting of snow one morning with a low of 17 yep, 17 degrees. That was a 30 year record low.. In Martinsburg WV there was 30 inches on the ground with 10" yet to come.If it would not cause such hardship down here I really would love to see us get a few feet of snow! Kill off some of the darn bugs!

We got about 30 inchs in Maryland. And calling for up to 10 inches tomorrow! I'm not happy! We have no where to put the snow. I spend all day Saturday, Sunday and Today shoveling snow. There is no where to put any more snow :S

Tell me about it. At the end of my driveway there is a 6ft pile just from us and the snow trucks throwing it there in passing. The window to my bedroom has a snowdrift that is probably 5 feet off the ground. This is getting crazy.

All I can say is thank god for our snow blower.

VERY strange winter here in central CT. Seems the Canadian high pressure is keeping the storms to the south and out to sea.

After dodging the first of the two big storms that hit PA, DC and the mid atlantic states ALL the forecasters predicted "blizzard" conditions yesterday. Almost every school in the state was closed and we ended up with between 1" - 2". Those weatherman are embarrassed today:D

Most likely it's El Nino. This is what's supposed to happen during an El Nino winter.

Been snowing all day in Dallas. I think it set a record. I know it's nothing compared to the east coast storms, but it's been fun here. But then again, we only get winter weather a couple of days a year, if that.

joe-bob, I hadn't noticed that you were in Dallas. I was born in Mckinney.
