Everyday carry

That really sucks when your infi starts running away :(

But seriously, maybe the magnet idea would work.

that might work, you also have to take into account the speed of the boat and comming to a stop and turning around. You can cover 100 yards in a boat before you turn around, the knife can skip and be carried by the current and it can also make like a dart and sink deep into the soft bottom, which is what I think it did.
Anyway, enough about this, it pisses me off everytime I think about it, so lets talk about happier things.

Fusion battle mistresses should be here for spring :D

can't wait.

Can't wait to get the Blade East knives either. I'll be the last guy to get them it seems. But good things usually comes to those who wait, so my guess is that they will be the best of the bunch.

I carry whatever I want, any blade length and it is legal here. (except I cannot carry switchblades).

I will carry my FBMLE once it arrives, and I always have my AK-47 in my bag. My bosses and coworkers do not freak out.

As far as guns go, MN has a carry permit (not "concealed carry") So I can legally carry any/as many gun(s) I want, concealed or in the open.

That's it, I am freaking moving to Minnesota!

I lived in Minnesota it wasn't worth it. I always kept a cartoon on my desk. It had two guys looking over the fence at each other; snow was up to their ears and they had on huge coats, mittens, hats and ear muffs. and each had a snow shovel. The caption read “I don’t know about you Mike, but if Minneapolis wasn’t rated number one in quality of life I’d get my a$$ out of here.”

hey, you guys seem knowledgably about knives, and i found one while vacationing this year. it's a big blade, and sharp! it cut my wading boot! it kinda looks like a bowie, but at the front and rear of the handle the metal has a hole drilled in it. i was about chest deep or so and stepped on it. any ideas what it is or what it is worth? ;)

..agreed- the technical term my department would use to describe bringing an "impact tool" (i.e. baseball bat) up against a knife (i.e. "actions will likely cause death or great physical injury") would be, and I quote: "Probable innefective control."

the bottom line is you live in Illinois. You have to abide by ILCS:
"Carries or possesses with intent to use the same unlawfully against another, a dagger, dirk, billy, dangerous knife, razor, stiletto, broken bottle or other piece of glass, stun gun or taser or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument of like character"

This is WAY open to interpretation...and you usually won't get arrested under this statute (unless its an auto which is specifically prohibited elsewhere in the chapter). HOWEVER you need to be careful of the municipal law of wherever you are. Chicago for example restricts any concealed blade to be 2.5" or less, or in the case you are under the age of 18, which seems possible, than 2"...

EDITED TO ADD- OK -SUBARUSTI lives in IL...not the post originator or Guyon

The wife and I were up in Chitown a year or so ago. We road into town on the metra from Downers Grove and walked from the trin station out to Navy Pier and what not. The wife says to me they have maps or some such crap in the Sear Tower. We walk in and there's the check point, I said I'll just wait here, you go on ahead. The gal at the machine says you wait outside, of course I had no problem with that. Wifey comes out wanting to know why I didn't go in with her, I asked her if she wanted to visit my arse in jail when they found the AD in my back pack. I hate Chicago.

On a side note, if we ever get CCW or a carry permit of any kind in IL I will probably have a coronary.

Don't care for the Twin Cities.

The GREAT thing about the twin cities was that every farm girl that wasn't married by a year out of high school was heading there for a job. I’d go out to a bar with a bunch of friends and it would be so thick with women that I’d hear some guy put his drink down and say “Ok I’m going to go over there and see if I can cut one from the herd”.

I undersand that D.C. is like that too.

Visited the Sears tower last year. Walked right through the check point with a 3" CRKT (my cheap travel knife) in my pocket. There was no way I was going to hand it over in advance.

Machine never made a beep. I cruised right on through.

back to the original question....

Here's my everyday carry... Knighthawk Talon .45acp and Sebenza... I'm still trying to track down a smaller blade Busse, but haven't been able to find one yet when I have the $$$....

In OK we can be licensed to bring a gun to a knife fight... :D

Beautiful pistol. I have wanted a Nighthawk for a long time. I just can't ever swing the $2200. Maybe next year.

thanks... I've had this one for a while and it's never missed a beat...

If/when you ever drop the dime on a Nighthawk you won't be dissapointed. :)

I have no doubt in my mind they are worth every penny. I have heard nothing but great things about the company.

With similar wording in Michigan's statute, that's why I generally keep my ED"C" Active Duty with my tools in my tool bag, and a smaller folder like my `benza in my pocket. Its intent is to be used as a tool, hence it's storage with the rest of my tools, thank you very much.

Once away from "civilization", though, the AD migrates to my pack with some of my other outdoor/hiking equipment, and then worn on my belt when out and about, where nobody gives a hoot.

michigan law states it is only illegal to have a blade over 3" if you are going to carry with unlawful intent...
"Michigan -750.226... Carrying with unlawful intent
Any person who, with intent to use the same unlawfully
against the person of another, goes armed with a pistol
or other firearm or dagger, dirk, razor, stiletto, or
knife having a blade over 3 inches in length, or any
other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument, shall
be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in
the state prison for not more than 5 years or by a fine
of not more than 2,500 dollars. "
