This is one of my favorite pics. It's very cool. Being called upon to clean 13 fish, is nothing for the 2 :) I bet you guys ate well that night. There really is something special about holding a BK2 in your hand for the first time.. I would feel silly saying that on any other site/forum but there are plenty of knife folk here who know what I'm talking about.

I will by the middle of this coming week!
Can't wait to get it....customize it and properly sheath it!!

The BK2 was my first. I am certainly on a budget and I started out with the want vs need comparison. With most other types of gear, need always wins, but with what has started to become an obsession for me with Becker Knives, I threw that out the window and sometimes want wins over need. Really, all I need is my BK2, but wanting all the other ones sure is fun:)

I'm on a budget also!
I hope the Becker bug isn't contagious!
I'm scrambl'in to rake together upgrade cash for my coming BK2.
That Spec Ops Survival Sheath I hafta have and nice laminated scales.

For a smaller fixed blade my SOG Seal Pup Elite sure is some fine steel!
Then I have a coupla different style Gerber Multi-tools which I like a lot.
The Suspension and the Legend to be exact...Legend I might put up for trade at some point.
It's actually kinda big for my liking.

Hey thanks! That was a fun (and quite tasty) day. :D

I have been looking to get a 2 for a while now, got a 9 on a lucky deal.

Kind of like that old chips commercial... can't have just one Becker.

I've never owned a BK2, only had the BK10 (Camillus) and I never warmed to the stubby thick blade.
Give me the BK5 any day - admittedly not as tough, but they probably weigh the same and I like thinner longer blades more.

I've had a BK 16 for a little while now and I love it. I read on here about how everyone loves the BK 2. I kept telling myself I don't need a knife like that. What would I possibly use it for? I wanted one anyway. My new BK 2 arrived in the mail today. It really was more than I expected, it came shaving sharp and WOW this thing is a beast! Now that I have it in my hand I can see what everyone has been talking about. All I can think about is taking it camping and seeing what I can do with it. I'm still not sure if I need it, but I sure do like it.

Aren't we all? not sure if need it, but sure do like it.

The BK2 is a fun knife to own, but not a "must have" knife. It's too clunky, too heavy, too cumbersome. It isn't big enought to be a chopper. It's weight makes it a poor choice for much more than a day hike.

If I ever need to chip my way through a cinder block wall, I hope I will have remembered to bring the deuce along. Otherwise, there are probably handier knives to carry in the field. The BK15 comes to mind.

I like mine, I got it in July and used it so much in July/August that half the finish was gone, so I sanded the rest off and forced a patina.

I really like it, other then the factory sheath which is poor.

Got my BK2 yesterday and was a lil bigger than I thought!
Yeah I call it my Knaxe....it's basically a axe with a knife handle.
It's definitely a beast and I can't wait for my Cocobolo scales to get here for it.
Once I have customized it the way I want it I'll post some pics of it.

Is it true that the newer sheaths don't have that plasti-glass crap anymore?
From what I have seen....pet peeve with the BK2 was the stock sheath.
Something about it dulling the ---- out of your blade.
Now I was told by a friend that He saw somewhere where KaBar has a diff sheath now.
Pure nylon plastic with out the glass in it that was killing everyones edge.

Anyone have info on this??
