So over the last few weeks I have seen several posts regarding the stock handles, Stippled handles, Micarta handles, And wood handles....

I consider myself lucky enough to have a sample of all 4 and would like to know everyone's opinion as to what they like and why.

For looks I love a nice set of wooden handles. I have 3 sets from tommy, 2 full side and a tweener set but I think for overall comfort I have to go with micarta. I have a tweener set and a full size and nothing against the wooden handles or the stock but I feel the micarta just performs better in all weather conditions especially with a good pair of gloves.

So go ahead everyone post your opinions...pics too if you have them... I'll post mine tomorrow as all my beckers are in the shed and it is too fricking cold to go outside tonight

I have micarta on my Neckers, and the stock ones on my BK9. I would like some nice wood ones, though.

I agree with WN. For practical everyday use, micarta wins easily. Wood handles are the most beautiful and factory....
Well they come with the knives and it would be kinda weird if they were shipped without handles. :D

Never held a Becker handle that I didn't like.

Jeremy

That's just because Ethan Becker is a GENIUS!

Well, I was going to erase it a apologize for the double tap but I think this deserves to be repeated. :D!

I have grip tape on my 7, (I red loc-tited the scales on before I knew what a bee-yotch it would be to change them later)
I textured the scales on my 9 and am really loving it so far.
I am waiting to put he zytel grips on my 14...soon
And I like the p-cord on the 11, may just keep it that way for awhile.

All my Beckers still have the factory handles on them. Have some plans to make some someday, but for now, factory is fine for me.

Hmmm. I like 'em all.
Grivory is lightweight and hardy. Slips out of the sheath and into the hand nicely.
Stippled grivory is less slick, but I was unable to get a truly comfortable finish on it.
Wood, when I do it, is so smooth it begs to be handled. And I think it looks great.
Micarta is tough and work-ready. Offers great grip.
You didn't ask about G10, and I haven't tried it on a Becker, but, like wood, it can be finished anywhere from rough and grippy to smooth and slick. Tough, chemical-resistant, and can look really cool. But I prefer natural-based materials.

Here are a few on the Tweeners:

I have Paracord, Zytel, Grivory, and Micarta. I like whatever is on the knife. It works which is what I like.

Obviously i like wood handles...i grew up working with wood,my father and grandfather were woodcraftsmen.i like the way it look, the way it feels.i also grew up with opinel knives and as we know, wooden handle.it is just natural to me.i have those micarta thing on the 14... Don t care for them and waitng for some zebrawood from tommy as i am typing this.
I probably would feel the same way with bone or stag handles,i just like the natural/earthy look of it,they re just harder to come thru or make.

I prefer the stock grivory handle scales. I like micarta and wood scales are beautiful but Ethan designed the perfect handles and I like to keep at least that part I'm tact. I'd like to experiment with customizing them though I'm too afraid I'd hate it and be wishing for the slick handles I know and love.

I like the Micarta, though they seem to be a little slick some times. Stock are great as well! Just nice to dress up and take them out sometimes!! ANd of topic and all but DarkSideDenny where you get that DOG TAG!!!! I want one.

I haven't had Micarta on my BK9 however I've had wood and stock.
Wood by far, it's absolutely beautiful and comfortable and with the right gloves even in bad conditions slip resistant(I love Oakley's Pilot Gloves, Great prices on Oakley when military).
I have Micarta on my ESEE 3 and I love it, the grip is perfect for what I've used it for and what I plan on using it for.

Granted my wood handles just came in yesterday and haven't done anything serious with it since then, but I have No Doubt it'll last.
