Everyone's latest acquisitions!

Apparently, my moratorium on purchasing folders skewed my judgement. Either that, or I was serious about not wanting any more. My last few folder purchases found no love. The first I'm calling a fluke because I've been a fan of the platform for many years... though I did shun this particular version when it was released; so maybe I really don't like it. The Larrin 501. I opened the box, gave it a quick look, and put it away. If I'm being honest, I don't even know where I put it - haven't seen it since (admittedly, I haven't looked for it).
Next came a Microtech Standard Issue (MSI). Loved the blade shape; but immediately disliked the knife. Put it back in the box.
Last was a Viper Key, with fluted ti scales. I appreciate the aesthetic; but I'll never carry it for a few reasons.
That's 0 for 3 :(

Not so much new knives as new knife parts / upgrades. Got some new ceramic Skiff bearings for my Medford Slim Praetorian and Medford Slim Midi.

The open and shut action is about the same but the blade movement between is noticeably smoother. Perfectly respectable for $13. Happy with this upgrade.

Also got the new decorative pivot screw for my Cedar from RobJohnsons that was just introduced last month (original was just a captive T8 pivot). Also, the original body screws had rounded tops and those were changed to flat top screws which I think look cleaner.

Just wish my overpriced, utterly worthless smartphone camera could do it all justice... 😠

I remember this being a pre-order a while ago
Nice!

I preordered and got #82 a few months ago - it seems to be taking a while for the run to be completed.

Yes I was on pre order for a while. I did receive this one a a little while ago but have not gotten a chance to take it out and appreciate it till today. They did a great job on these from scales to hardware. It’s a nice collector piece.

I loved how the price kept going down as they kept reaching new sales numbers, and the "cost per knife" would go down. I think I got a small $30 or so refund twice after I ordered 😂

I'm afraid Hinderer has me hooked, for right now. I bought a XM-18 3.5 Slicer a couple of months ago that I liked so much, I almost immediately started thinking about the next RH knife. I received this Eklipe 3.5 today from Hinderer and after about an hour in and out of the pocket, I may like it better than the XM. I've only had the knife vice a few years and am very new to higher end knives, but I've learned two things: You can do all the research but you never really know about a knife until it's in your hand. And with the more premium knives, the search can be almost as satisfying as the unboxing.View attachment 2543329

Try a firetac, you're welcome 😁

Just for clarification, I pretty much knew I wouldn't like those three knives...I just let the want win, which is good for accruing knives, but bad for finding users.
On the other hand, before those three, I bought a lil red Buck 305 and two (small) SHFs with which I'm very happy. Somewhere (late) in that mix, I bought a Buck 105 Pro that I plan to start carrying once I get the sheath from duramax duramax .

Pics did not turn out too well, I can't seem to get a good spot for lighting my phone camera.

Terry M. Terry M. posted a couple pics of one of these WE knives and I liked it enough to try one out. While I share much of the hesitation regarding their source (not discussing here), the knives themselves are surprisingly nice knives! I am actually very impressed with them.

I just got the Volunteer knives (my first) and have not used them yet. I got them after seeing so positive reviews here on BF. They easily live up to everything great that I have seen here.

I tell you what……. I share your hesitation with point of origin but the knives themselves are fantastic. I really like them a lot!

I Have often wondered why nobody made a utility knife that was more “pocketknifey”. Well a random youtube video I watched included this little gem so I figured, what the heck?!? It was 19.99. Olight Otacle U1
