Everyone's latest acquisitions!

I was glad to pick this guy up on the Exchange, I missed these when they were available:

"What's special about this one?" It's rocking some extra horsepower in the edge-holding department over their standard versions:

I just got a robi klaas solingen Germany 3 blade stag handle with the bar on the side and kissing kranes on the back of the blades and can’t find anything about it or even another one.

EdgePro Professional 3 in the house !
That otta do it.
I look at other sharpeners that have blade clamps . . . between imagining how those will collide with the stones when I geeter laid back and thin behind the edge and knowing how the blade is going to flex up and down in the clamps . . .
annnnn how my old basic Edge Pro Apex supports the knife right behind the edge and allows me to make edges that are so FAR BEYOND any thing I could have wished for fifteen years ago (cutting curls off a single hair while it is still in my arm) . . .

well lets just say I think you are going to have a good time with that ! ! !

PS : I even have a Wicked Edge with lots of diamond stones but some how haven't taken the time to mod the clamp (like I had planned) to clear my stones for the edges I want (I'll be dambed if I'm going to pay the extortion money for longer rods etc.).
I do use the stones hand held for free hand sharpening or clamp them in a vise for free hand preliminary reprofiling; kind of nice for that.

Wowbagger Wowbagger Definitely looking forward to laying the stones on my first edge .
I really like the idea of no clamp just for the ease of flipping backing and fourth from one side to the other easily. I’ll use painters tape on the blade regardless to help prevent scratching. I love how beefy the stand is and I tested out the lock clamping system and it holds the table nice so the stability is there.Everything about this sharpening system its first class but it should be for the cost. I love how it’s signed buy the guy who made it from Edge Pro. I hope I’ll be as impressed after my first Edge As I am now from what I see.I’ve had multiple sharpening systems and all have there negatives but this one should be pretty sweet . Like you I also do some freehand with stones with decent results .
Anyway thanks Brother pretty excited to Getter Done 😆👍🏻👊🏻

I have had the Edge Pro Apex for around 15 years. Acquired 5 or 6 other systems since then, and I always go back the Edge Pro. It's not the fastest, but it will give you precise results, with a mirror finish if you want, every time.

The narrow stones for recurves and hawkbills work great as well. You should definitely get one of the coarse diamond stones if you didn't already. Re-profiling super steel is a lot quicker!

All that to say, you will not be disappointed!

Oh man, I can't believe I finally found this old YouTube. I had your mention of painter's tape in mind.
The stuff in the vid is what I use. Not saying it's better but I've always done it this way because I saw this vid early on. You might want to give it a try .

Seems like he was a little controversial in some circles here on BF but he makes stuff sharp and likes Gayle Bradley ll and 940 knives so he's OK in my book.

After 5 months finally got the scales. Easily my favorite civivi now. Really glad I optioned the carbon fiber backspacer as well, looks much better not seeing the standoffs/lanyard post.

That is really gorgeous !
Subtle but really great looking.
reminds me of the jigged titanium handles; I haven't bought one but I sure enjoy seeing them and your carbon fiber one even more.
