I’ve had a couple of the smaller Mac 2’s for a while. Their shop is only about an hour away from me so I had to buy them to support local business. My wife totally understood. I like their new production Dixons too. I had a chance to buy one of the original customs but regrettably passed on it.I finally pulled the trigger on a McNees MAC 2 3.5!!! This is going to be a new facorite, I think.

I saw these guys at BLADE in June and got to fondle a bunch of their knives, to include all the Nixons they had brought. I really liked those, and plan to own one for certain at some point. I will say that the only issue I've had so far now that I've gotten some pocket and use time with the MAC is that I have to be very careful with how I grip the knife when opening it, because my natural grip is settling my fingertips on the lockbar, and it's causing me to have to use a lot pressure to open the knife unless I readjust my grip on it, after which it "snaps" open easily. Just something I gotta get used to, because otherwise, the knife is fantastic. Some knives I've found, are more forgiving of how you're holding it, SHFs for example, but these MACs seem to be very tightly machined. The stand-offs were almost press-fit into the scales and it took a second to get them out, so I could put in the geared backspacer. The machining is exceptional, all things considered.I’ve had a couple of the smaller Mac 2’s for a while. Their shop is only about an hour away from me so I had to buy them to support local business. They’ve really gotten the action on their knives tuned in over the last few years.
Understood. Compared to knives with similar blade lengths their handles are pretty short which can naturally cause you to have to cramp your grip somewhat. I have decent sized hands and long fingers so I totally understand having to “learn” a new knife.I saw these guys at BLADE in June and got to fondle a bunch of their knives, to include all the Nixons they had brought.
