Received this gorgeous thing in the mail today and weirdly enough I was disappointed. A short time ago, I watched LeftyEDC do an unboxing video of the Alpha on YouTube and was awestruck. I loved everything about it but especially the way the light played with the bright satin finish.

I immediately went on the hunt and found the last one left on the site but it only came in dark Stonewash. I was reluctant at first, however, I liked the look of the knife so much I pulled the trigger anyway. But when I got it and opened the package today, I immediately realized it wasn’t what I wanted. The dark Stonewash just isn’t doing it for me. There’s nothing wrong with it, and I know I’d love it on another design, but it’s not what I was after with this one.

I know I’m out of my mind, but it’s just how I’m wired. Don’t judge me man. . . 😂

Edited to add that I decided to just keep it and work it over with some Scotch Bright. 😁👍🏻

Christmas haul:

My wife got me a Recon One XL which may become my favorite Mega Folder of their line-up.

My brother in law overpayed for some Huusk knives, but his heart is in the right place. I have a Japanese Nata that a late forum friend gifted me that gets pressed into cleaver duty in the kitchen. I may retire it out of respect for my old buddy and let this war club take the beating

Bought an old Western cutley 2 blade hunter in delrin, 062from what I read it is a Camillus made after they bought Western in the early 90’s Just has Western USA and 062, it does not have Boulder, CO. I assume it carbon steel but it looks awfully shiny so I wonder if it’s stainless steel blades, there are rust spots on the top of theblades, but doesn’t look like any patina. It also does not say stainless on the shield.
Think finally read up that Millie’s used 420 in the Western line but had a titanium bonding process that help strengthen, and help corrosion resistance. I sharpened it a little today and no it takes an edge well afainjj no j still think it is stainless based on the shine on the steel. Finally posts a few pics of it.
