Everyone's latest acquisitions!

Grail acquired. New to me NeOn fresh from the exchange. I've wanted a Shiro for many years, but they're mostly well out of my price range. This one happened to pop up at a good time, and I was somehow able to swing it, so I went for it. Holy moly. This is probably the nicest knife I own, and I own a bunch. I'm incredibly happy to have snagged it. This is the one, fellas.

Congratulations buddy, she’s a beauty!!

A week back ... I picked up a used copper Hinderer XM-18 scale. I watched a youtube video teaching ways to patina copper.

💡🥸 - a light turned on in my cranium to give the patina a try. Super simple process: clean surface; sprinkle sea salt on areas you want different color(s); suspend on a jerri-rigged Reynolds wrap tinfoil bridge over a paper towel saturated with ammonia in a sealed recycled plastic lunchmeat container for 24 hours; rise under a light trickle of water the pat dry with a paper towel; and finally apply shellac to seal the patina.

Still trying to get a feel of whether I like it or not.
Those scales are like the scales of a dangerous snake!

Fantastic!

Just received this Les George Raider Stiletto by Priority Mail which incredibly arrived in just 2 days.

That's what they promise but it's a record time of delivery for my Priority Mail deliveries recently.

It joins this small, odd ball collection of Militiary-type combat knives in my collection:

From top to bottom, they are:

1) Les George Raider Stiletto
2) Gerber Mark II
3) Gerber Command II
4) Glock FM78
8) US M8A1 Bayonet

I also have a Glock FM81, which I had to buy overseas & I paid too much for when they weren't widely available in the US, but it didn't fit in the pic.

Bought a Spyderco Native GEN 1 and liked it so much I had to add a full stainless GEN 2. The stainless steel scales look like they were hand rubbed and they are somehow not a fingerprint magnet. Seki City Spyderco Native 2 AUS-10. Crazy thin knife at 1/4 inch thick that feels substantial bc it weights 4.6 ounces.

I really like these older Seki SS Spydies, they tend to have excellent fit & finish. For want of a better word, “solid” build quality.
