That signature fuller on the Reate made Bergs is one of the reasons I like them so much. There is a sweet spot on my alpha that when I hit it just right it flies open like it was assisted.
 
A week back ... I picked up a used copper Hinderer XM-18 scale. I watched a youtube video teaching ways to patina copper.

💡🥸 - a light turned on in my cranium to give the patina a try. Super simple process: clean surface; sprinkle sea salt on areas you want different color(s); suspend on a jerri-rigged Reynolds wrap tinfoil bridge over a paper towel saturated with ammonia in a sealed recycled plastic lunchmeat container for 24 hours; rise under a light trickle of water the pat dry with a paper towel; and finally apply shellac to seal the patina.

I’ve been kinda holding off lately because a commission piece is coming up soon.
The maker informed me he’s running about two weeks behind so…
I gave in to my baser instincts and went scouring for a custom to pick up.

Today I bought a SDK Anthem. Should arrive Saturday…
The ad pics weren’t great, but brown canvas micarta/barked Ti lockside, zirconium clip/spacer/collara.
