Everyone's latest acquisitions!

My first experience with an Oz, it has a very smooth operation, maybe the best bearing action I've felt.

Not a knife, but I got a new set of AWT scales for the Manix 2. I got a set of AWT blems for a Native5, and some for a Ritter RSK a couple months ago, and liked them, so I ordered these when I saw them on sale last week.

According to my wife's kitchen scales, they make it 0.9 ounces lighter, and it's slightly slimmer. Fit is excellent & the action is just as smooth as it was. I did have to take it apart, and reassemble it because I installed the lock bar with the ball opening facing down, instead of up. I knew what was wrong as soon as I opened it. It still worked, but wasn't nearly as smooth.

This should be my last one for awhile after being on a bit of a binge this year that I had no business being on (unless of course something else extraordinary comes my way). But I had to make up for the disappointment of that POS Microtech I had to return, so it’s all good. This fella is a Kubey Vagrant, less expensive version of the KB Vagrant for us cheapskates. S35VN steel, and a really cool looking flamed titanium handle that I’d never seen before, but I like it a lot. Action is excellent, perfectly centered, easily spydie-flickable, locks up solid, and a frame lock that does exactly what it’s supposed to without getting in the way. I’ve had some much more expensive folders that don’t feel as nice as this … which is why I’ve sworn off much more expensive folders. But I digest … this one’s a definite keeper.
