A pair of new budget beaters for work;
TecX Brute (by Case) - made in China. Yup, a case knife made in China, and I actually bought one, but I really liked the look, and for the price it was too easy to give in and scratch that itch for a bit to hold me over.
-ads say aus8, but official site says "tec-x knives feature 440 or Aus8 blades". Unfortunately actual steel used is not stamped, so Idk which it is, but considering how similar the 2 steels are it's not a huge deal either way for the price. It's actually a really nice knife for <$30.
-Action is surprisingly smooth, finish is great, definitely supassed my expectations for a knife this cheap and made in China. Sheath leaves a lot to be desired though, I really wish it had a pocket clip.
Kilimanjaro Victus, made in China with 7cr17mov blade, essentially 440a+nickel. I've owned a pair of smaller Kilimanjaro Vertices, and was really impressed with what I got for such a stupid low price, and performance was decent too, so I figured I'd give one of their larger models a go. This one makes more sense with a sheath as it is a thick hefty knife and handle. Action isnt as smooth as the TecX, but it's a $20 knife, so my expectations aren't sky high, but so far, worth every penny and more... definitely going to try and buy one of their Winkler collabs in aus10 this year...
