Everyone's latest acquisitions!

My lovely wife, in her beautiful and charming way, politely suggested that I seek to find some balance between the money leaving the household and the money coming into the household.

Or at least that's how I heard it anyway.
Stealth and discretion can help to make these conversations less common...
...For at least a little while!

I am 13 Spydies deep, with four more on the way. Got my first PM2 for Christmas. I really want a Microtech.
You win! Lol.

If you go down the microtech rabbit hole, you might end up selling most of those spydercos.

I have one spyderco that I'll keep. It's a light weight version and it carries nicely with a microtech (and a small SAK) which is pretty much my 3 knife daily carry anytime I'm out.

They aren't for everyone and I can respect that, but I'm new to OTF autos and absolutely love them. As of now, I can't see me carrying anything else very much. All mine are plain, single edge and I don’t see that changing much as it's the most useful/practical edge for me.

I know, I am addicted to Spydies, and want multiples, like I have an ATS-55 Civilian and am like "That's great, but that is near my age, I should get a new one as a functional Civilian" and then I want a second Matriarch 2 for cutting, then I wanna collect all the reverse-S knives so I order a Lil Matriarch and have a Cricket on the way, I want an S90V Yojumbo for utility/cutting purposes to compliment my S30V cause the blade shape is so efficient, I just got my FIFTH PM2 in today cause it's the best way to try diff steels in the same platform, etc

I definitely want at least one Microtech, love those D/E blades, seem great for light utility, lots of cutting area. I like the tiny fat Star Wars-y ones, too, but the big D/E daggers are my fave, followed by the smalls. They are not strictly legal in my area, most of them, anyways, so I will probably become more of a fan once I am out of the restrictive state of Cali, but honestly, using it at home, and work, and when I'm going from point A to point B is probably fine, as it'd be purely a delicate cutter for me. I have CS and Spyderco to carry on late walks, legally. Silly, though, CS Espada XL, all good! Microtech deadly!

See, it's almost like music, I truly do like it all, and not just "Oh, I like the radio", as in, I own country music next to my death metal LPs next to my west coast hip hop next to next to.... Same with knives. One day I might leave the house with a Case Toothpick (though I really want a better steel trad, looking at a Cruwear Boker), a Leatherman, a PM2 and a Matriarch 2. I could easily do a Douk/K55/Higo/Opi in favor of the Case, or a diff slippie. I truly love all the styles. I might even end up liking big Ti framelocks, who knows? I have not tried them yet, haha.

In short... I think I will like Microtech's OTFs 😁

Just don’t show any of your SF friends.

The perfect knife for you would be a DA Spyderco, i think. Just saying :D

Gor it, and we have a communication link to work with now!
(If you upgraded to Gold membership: PMs are allowed, and posting pictures is much easier)
Oh I know, I'm about to go gold just for the pics and all. I just got a bit of money in this week and have done unspeakable things to my bank account this week so I was holding off so as not to tempt myself too badly 😂

Ha, was that in relation to the Ti Framelocks? 😁

And yes sir, yes I would! I love large knives, and large Spydies. What was that one with the wave, flipper, and hole? The Tropen? Or Tatanka? Either way, I'd love either one of those. Nice Valloton!

So about my above posted “ new uncarried new old stock 2014 Umnumzaan” , it isn’t….

Snapped a couple of quick photos stuck it in my pocket and went back to work. Got home to give her a good once over and the fun began.

Started with a ripped box that I saw in the sellers photos and didn’t really care about. Then noticed the grease and thread lock had been used and two of the three wrench’s were missing. I saw when I opened it it had a few love marks, this thing has been carried, but who here hasn’t played with a knife and still considered it new?
But wait there’s more..damn knife was made in 2020! Box, card all paper work not for this knife!
Contacted the seller whom I was pretty sure was reselling a knife from a collection he bought as that’s what this guy does and I have bought from him before I think with decent results. As I suspected, reseller gave it the once over, kinda fibbed on the brand new un-carried part and listed it for a pretty decent price for todays market. I paid a good deal less then his asking to begin with so I wasnt gouged. Seller seem upset with him self on the phone when I called and was very apologetic. After talking we agreed to a partial refund and I would keep the knife I bought to become a user anyway so the story has a happy ending, I have the knife I wanted with a better heat treat then planned and the seller doesn't have to try a sell a used knife with no box and papers for a price that is less then he paid!

Be careful on the secondary market folks. I think this is the last knife Ill buy from other then the exchange here ( except for the large Inkosi I have inbound of course.)
Sounds like it worked out fine.
