I strongly believe in supporting local knifemakers.

I've heard rumors that there are cheaper knives available on other planets, but when it's my dollar that's being spent, I choose to support Earth's craftsmen. This knife was proudly made here on planet Earth. It even says so on the blade.

Support humans! Shop local!

Oh, and this is a Spyderco Para Military 2 in Maxamet. I bought it used from Nordic Knives, who very represented it very accurately and shipped it very quickly. There was a small stain on the G-10 but I cleaned that up easily. It's got a Lynch deep pocket clip...have not used that brand before. Once I moved it to the One True Clip Position (as defined by me for me), it seems to be fine.

I'm not sure the previous owner ever used this knife much, because the edge is still scalpel sharp and there isn't much patina at all so it may have sat a while in a box with a desiccant. It doesn't seem very broken in and doesn't drop free to close. I am rectifying this with excessive fidgeting.

Someone else on the concall: "Is anyone else hearing a metal clicking sound in the background?"
Me: (silently puts his new knife back in his pocket)

Snikt! Go humans!
