I have never steeled my Maxamet knives. They strop up really well though but you will want some sort of diamond compound or abrasive.used spydie PM2, G10, maxamet. it's less sharp than i'd expect if it were new, and i'm womdering it there's a difference in how to steel or strop a blade as hard as this.
