Everyone's latest acquisitions!

This Vehement Knives Commando Classic, an homage to the Sykes-Fairbairn fighting knife and the V-42 commando dagger. Brown and black stacked leather handle, blackened brass guard, aluminum pommel, satin CPM154 blade, with my IBM M1 carbine and my Remington-Rand 1911-A1 as well as the Vehement Knives Grunt in satin 'Tigerlypse' finish CPM154 and black canvas micarta over orange liners.

Picked up a Giantmouse Grand in orange G10 (I just can’t get myself to like micarta). And a Rex 45 Native 5 with white frn. Put some skiffs in a couple of knives including my 0308 which makes it like a different knife. Think I’m gonna order some skiffs for the Giantmouse. Just waiting on the native to get here.
Let us know how that Native 5 is. The white FRN looks so sweet

lets try this out....

WE elementum...

The Natrix is here. And it’s quirky. Very light, but materials still feel like decent quality, especially the CF overlay. Flipping open is nice and smooth, as long as you’re not pinching the subframe lock. Closing is another story - kind of clumsy trying to close one handed, almost a 3-step process. I love the look of the subframe lock, but not too sure yet of the actual action. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, or just two-hand it. First bearing pivot I’ve owned, and I think I like it.

Nice - I have all variations and sizes of the manual Natrixes. I still occasionally struggle with the sub-frame locks. While I like the knives and love that they’re manual I still think the sub-frame lock implementation sucks overall. On some of them, you’ve got to be way too intentional while opening them. I think Kershaw had to make the lock large enough to get the strength that’s needed, but it’s that large size that makes it such a PITA to open sometimes. I had the little Copper one and I really hated that thing, so I ditched it.
Kershaw has also implemented this subframe lock on other models with varying degrees of suckage.

I recently bought one of these Tumblers:

It is decent - the sub-frame lock geometry seems to be a little better than other Kershaws, but it still can be annoying.

At this point, I’ll probably avoid most all future implementations of these. nothing beats a true frame lock or liner lock.

Agreed - their liner locks are definitely easier to operate. I am getting the hang of the subframe lock, but I’m learning that I prefer the liner, and even the button axis lock on the Launches.

A couple of MKM folders:
-The top one is a Jens Anso GoccIa Flipper w m390/Red Lava Flow Fat Carbon. Incredible f&f with a snappy action. Very satisfied w the purchase.

-The bottom one is a Bob Terzuola Maximo Flipper w m390/Machined ti. A bit clunky and slow in terms of action. Will need to disassemble, clean and see what I can do.

The Goccia is akin to a quick, flashy Italian sports car, while the Maximo is akin to a Ford F-250 work truck.2C23F33F-96D8-4A81-996E-0F49211C9300.jpeg2C23F33F-96D8-4A81-996E-0F49211C9300.jpegBAE119D0-E0AD-4FD2-A9E5-463EEF7697F0.jpeg

A trio of Benchmades (top to bottom):

-Mini Freek (s90v/carbon fiber), no flaws w exception of the incredible tightness of the action. Will work on it to see if it improves.
-Bugout 535-3 (s90v/carbon fiber), perfect fit/finish/action. I love this knife!
-Osborne 940-1 (s90v/carbon fiber), blade was touching the left liner. Wtf, how did this make it through QC? No effect on cutting, but will more than likely send back to Benchmade to fix. $88, I can deal w it, $288, they can deal with it!D9802045-9654-40B6-B3C1-57D71ACEA7EB.jpegA382C91A-BA8D-4FC5-8761-F5431A515619.jpeg

Two slim knifes for work discretion:

-the top one is a Tactile Knife Co. Rockwall (yes, same manufacturer as the pens. Beautiful machining of the titanium w a perfect fit and finish. Great in the hand and invisible in work/suit slacks. Magnacut and Ti. Highly recommended

-the bottom one is a Viper Hug w m390/blue matter dark cf w Ti bolsters. Sheepsfoot blade is perfect. Stunning knife that carries very sleathy. Firm slip joint mid-stop. Perfect fit and finish. Highly recommended.972134FC-4AE6-4DE0-A536-4DF9E114F273.jpeg9FFDC80E-7ABC-4098-B27A-95298C7E2CB7.jpeg
