Knife steel nerds has some good info too on different steelsSteels as in learning about all the options, there are many? Just the Facts. Blade HQ has a section on many different steels and there uses.
I like the way they graph their attributes and weaknesses.
Thanks Brother! It’s very comfortable in hand and one of my most favorite Barkies .Sweet blade with that great burned handle. Looks like a comfortable fit in hand.
Great catch...very nice wood pattern.Buck 303 in rosewood finally arrived. Had an order in for over a month with one of the online vendors (who is STILL showing it as backordered). When it showed up last weekend at the Buck site, I ordered from there and canceled the original order. It looks great and the action is just perfect. This is such an awesomely cool little knife, ima go hunting for a bigger one in the same finish to carry around, as I’d be too worried about losing this one outside cos it’s so small (3.25” closed). But it will do quite well for an everything-inside knife.

Purple heart makes beautiful scales! Very under-used imho.Spyderco Mule Team M398. Going to make some scales for it out of purple heart wood.
That is a great looking knife! I am sure it will serve you well.
What do you think of the Gerber? I like they're old vintage stuff and multitools and kind of have a soft spot for the brand and am intrigued by their new US made offerings.
