Everyone's latest acquisitions!

Just a bit of a delay, getting around to posting the last knife purchases of 2022, due to a computer failure and how busy work is.

Three fixed blades in 4410 KRUPP stainless steel from Grohmann Knives in Canada, with the commemorative D-Day toonie on the atlas covering the position of their factory in Pictou, Nova Scotia. I love that part of their building's signage is a large replica of their famous Grohmann No.1 sticking through the wall on one corner and out the other side. From top to bottom are the No.2 Trout & Bird with a water buffalo horn handle, the No.3 Boat Knife, and the No.103 Short Blade Skinner (the last two knives with Micarta handles).

I don't know who designed the newer model #103 Short Blade Skinner, but DH Russel designed most of the knives sold by Grohmann, including the No.2 and No.3. The No.3 Boat Knife was even issued as a jump knife by the Canadian Airborne, starting back in 1964. I have no idea if they were still made available to the regimental attached jump companies and reserve jump platoons that came later.

I also was tempted by WValtakis, but then I saw a video of how thin the liner lock is on that giant knife
It's a thinner liner lock, but seems to be sturdy, as far as slipping off goes.
For the price, it's a keeper.

Spyderco/Serge Pachenko Dogtag
Afaik there are several different versions but if you want something similar but better check out Serge's website! Every now and then he has them basically as customs in titanium/timascus

My latest incoming today - one of the Crown Jewels of my collection so far.

I've had to ignore a few nice used specimens on the exchange, because I've had this new one planned for a while. Had to wait to get notified when it was in stock and then pounce (born last Friday, went out of stock as soon as I ordered it). You can see the mark where they tested the hardness.
