Yesterday was the first day I had it in hand, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet other than to open, close, admire. The Sage 5 is a slightly larger comp lock version of a Chaparral, which is currently my favorite Spyderco. The Sage has a thicker blade and the handle is longer, taller, and thicker. But, it feels very similar/familiar in hand. It's not likely to dethrone my Chap, but I do like it quite a bit so far. Here is the Chap laid over the Sage to show the similarity.I didn't realize three Maxamet Sage 5 lw was out already. How is it?
Thanks for this. I have really thought about getting a Chaparral one day. I do love Maxamet which is the only temptation for me haha. I'm sure the xhp is great though.Yesterday was the first day I had it in hand, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet other than to open, close, admire. You're quite welcome. Just to give you a bit more on blade thickness, here is that photo. Sage 5 on the left and Chaparral on the right. The thin blade on the Chap makes it super slicey. Thanks for this. I have really thought about getting a Chaparral one day. I do love Maxamet which is the only temptation for me haha. I've got the same one. It's a great blade. SUPER fidgety. Enjoy it!my friend R Raj out west has sent this largish Kizer Begleiter XL as an early birthday present, it's one solid rascal and arrived very very sharp, thanks again RJ !

They don’t match but oh well. Just fyi Arno Bernard is at the African Sporting Creations booth at the DSC convention this week.
Thanks! The iMamba is the burlap canvas. The fixed blade is the Badger in Kudu bone. That Arno is awesome. What model is it?
