Everyone's latest acquisitions!

I have a $100 gift certificate to Spyderco and I'm going to the factory store next week so...

Trying to decide what to get. I'm going to look at the Amalgam, Military 2, and Kapara for sure Wish they were available in something other than S30V. Any suggestions? I have a PM2 (2, one I'm trying to sell) so I don't need another, also have a Manix 2, Yojimbo 2, GB1, and Southard. I had a Para 3, don't want another.

How about a Chaparral with Raffir Noble scales, or a Spydiechef? Maybe a Drunken if you can afford it.

I'm not a backlock fan. I also don't like plain Ti, but I make exceptions occasionally. I've considered a Spydiechef and having a certain place anodize it.

Then Drunken is the obvious choice. Even I have two.

Seriously, some of the nicest micarta I've experienced.. didn't think I'd be saying that about a Buck, but this thing is cool!

Had to check out the Hultafors Grovkniv(heavy duty knife) as it's been praised all over the webs.

Dirt cheap with some kind of japaneese carbon steel at 59-60 HRC in 3mm stock. Some even call it a "mora killer". Dont know bout that, but it's similar quality and has a very comfy n large handle in tough PP-plastic.

Scandi grind, but it comes with a pretty bad v-edge at the bevel. So I put my own freehand edge on it tonight. Not the prettiest work but now it's as sharp as I can get it without going full reprofile.

This is my January haul. I didn't intend it this way, it all just sort of fell into place... 😳 Major kudos go out to @knifemakertday who sold me the Shiro, which was a grail knife for me. It's also my first Shiro and I get the hype now. The Axon is one I've wanted for ages but is quite underwhelming. The end cut carbon fiber on it is pretty terrible and has a very dull,, seemingly micro-milled striated finish that is not consistent between the two scales and prevents the carbon fiber from really shining. The action also just doesn't blow me away. Pretty let down by that one and will probably move it along. I don't think replacement scales will make me change my mind on it. The Voodoo and the Cedar are both ideal knives for me and total keepers. Working with Nicolas on the Cedar was a fun and pleasant experience. And the MBK OG is my second because it's just an all around great knife and this one maintains its solid reputation.
If we're doing hauls now, then this was my January haul (just started getting back into this btw):

Found this in the mailbox after work.20240210_110806.jpg

This is the Stoat from the shop of David Mary. It has to go to work on its first day and help install some custom trim. Custom knife for custom trim, makes sense.

It is also a perfect example of why it is a great Idea to shop around the builders here on BF. Have a nice weekend all.
