Excitement for GEC Bullnose in Micarta?

Just looked at it.

You all may think I am crazy but IMO this is as good as it can get from GEC. O1, OD linen micarta and the bullnose pattern is IMO the best feeling knife they make.

This IS the whole package for a work knife.

This is going to look awesome with a worn look and real patina.

A huge thumbs up to GEC for this one.

Kevin

I'd have liked the same pattern with a lock back but otherwise I completely agree

Green micarta is really good, but so too is the natural colour tan and red as well, just saying we could all do with more micarta knives!

KSF shipped me a green linen one today. If I'm lucky it will be waiting to me at work on Monday. I don't think they had a canvas one, or I probably would have ordered one of those instead, I kind of like the coarser weave in the micarta.

The canvas is an sfo, and I think it can only be gotten in one place.

I hopped on Mike's canvas train, couldn't help myself. I had a hard time justifying owning both some 72s and the Bullnose last year but this new run is too cool to miss.

Yes, the canvas can only be had at Collector Knives. You can mention them because Mike has a paid dealer membership here. I believe he mentioned here that only 50 SFO canvas Bullnoses were made.

It appears that the pivot pin on the micarta versions are a bit proud. The pivot pin on yours seems to be a bit proud Brian. Can you comment on that Brian? Kinda improves the looks for my .02¢. Very nice looking knife Brian. I've got the canvas version on order from collectorknives.

Yes it's is Ed, thanks. Just a bit proud on both sides. I noticed it right off and didn't really think about it again. Until I saw the pic of the canvas knife and noticed it there too. It reminds me of the exposed pin on the recent electrician knife. Good stuff.

Great pics Brian, thanks for posting! From just a glance through some threads touching on these new handle versions of the bullnose it seems they are being extremely well received. I do hope this means more options down the road! Can't wait til these hit my door!

Thanks for the reply Brian. Yes, I too look at the proud pin as a plus. Kinda gives it a rugged look.

We've gotta stop talking about these knives. Since my first post to you, I've ordered another canvas version.

Robb, I guess I missed Mike saying that. Thanks for the heads up on that. Oh well, I reckon I will make do with linen ;-)

How thick are the micarta slabs? Are they thick like the Delrin, or are they thinner like the NifeBrite acrylic?

I just heard that the canvas will likely reach collectorknives today or Monday, then ship.
