What's the most you have ever spent on a knife ?

Which knife was it ?

Were you thrilled with it ? Disappointed ?

What was it about the knife that made you "have to have it" despite the price ?

Did you actually handle the knife first or did u order it online going souly on research and recommendations ?

PM2. Bought it from KW at Blade last year and had to have it cuz it was the last one. $117. Worth every penny.

Close to 600 on a large sebenza with inlays.

I have a small inlay so I knew exactly what I wanted.

Whenever I spend more than $450 on a knife I get nervous. I have spent $700 on a knife. It was perfect, but a lil to much for me to spend.

M4 Benchmade Griptilian and I paid $150 for it. I was drooling over the Ritter Griptilians but they where out of stock and I saw a new M4 Griptilian show up here on the forum and I had to jump on it :D

What's the most you have ever spent on a knife ? $500

Which knife was it ? CRK Small Sebenza with a custom "Sea Breeze" graphic.

Were you thrilled with it ? Disappointed ? Thrilled. It is a work of art as well as a functional tool.

What was it about the knife that made you "have to have it" despite the price ? Beautiful graphic, CRK reputation, materials, reviews.

Did you actually handle the knife first or did u order it online going souly on research and recommendations ? Online research only.

Little over $650,OOO.OO I purchased the knife about 14 years ago while on vac. at Dollywood in Tn. The Group Alabama was playing there for 3 nights, man what a great show. We had family in from 5 states and rented a monster 7 BR house on top a mountain near Gatlinberg Tn... All the men were in this huge game room in the basement, been drinking whiskey, burning a lot of "fire" that summer day, when we all heard all hell break loose way upstarts. House had basement and then 2 ground floors. Coming to the ground floor kitchen I reached for protection and went to the top floor with an 5 inch 'ol hickory pearing knife. There I saw one of my 5 brother in laws naked in bed with my wife, and his wife beating them both with the legs off a broken ironing board. She turned to yell at me, my brother in law jumps up, and I swear to God, and was acquitted of all charges, him running naked, fell into that 'ol hickory as he was falling to the hardwood floor. Needless to say that ended the trip for me and we split it up 50/50. if you count the Alabama tickets, about $650,140.00. Still got the knife. Sheriff laughed like hell when he gave it to me after court in TN. Divorce was in NC. WTF ps fear was the reason I got the knife.

I'm a cheap date. Either $108 for a Leatherman Charge TTi or $93 for a BM Griptilian.

Yeah, you "win". This sounds like the plot to a Woody Allen movie if he had grown up in the South.

My El patron has been my most expensive purchase, and I think it's absolutely worth it. As much as I love that "bank vault" feeling of my Sebenza I think the El Patron. The sound the lock makes when engaging is one I love hearing over and over.

My Zt was the most expensive. I was absolutely in love at first site. Then I picked it up and the fit and finish on it was magnificent. After I flipped it open the money dropped on the table and away I went.

What's the most you have ever spent on a knife ? - $150

Which knife was it ? - EDCForums 2013 forum knife. Spyderco Native 5 with moonglow scales.

Were you thrilled with it ? Disappointed ? - Wasn't my cup of tea. Sold it for what I paid for it.

What was it about the knife that made you "have to have it" despite the price ? - Thought it might be interesting to have. Just wasn't my taste.

Did you actually handle the knife first or did you order it online going solely on research and recommendations? Pre-ordered. There was no way to handle it.

Most expensive knife I ever bought that I still own is the Bladeforums 2013 traditional forum knife. $130. Love it, great knife for the money.

What's the most you have ever spent on a knife ? $700 on two different occasions

Which knife was it ? XM-18 and Rockstead Higo

Were you thrilled with it ? Disappointed ? XM actually disappointed me quite a bit. The detent on it was nonexistent and it just didn't carry the feel of a $700 knief. XM did lack the wow factor, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I was kind of disappointed in the Rockstead initially because it was rather plain until I carried and used it. It has proven to be an excellent knife.

What was it about the knife that made you "have to have it" despite the price ? I had to check out the XM after seeing all the rave, and the one that I picked up had some nice after market parts on it. The Rockstead was no brainer since they're usually 900-1000, it's a good opportunity to experience something a little different.

There is a difference between the most I spent and my most expensive knife. :D

What's the most you have ever spent on a knife ? I really don't like spending more than $250 on a knife, but frequently go way over that. Most so far was ~$900.

Which knife was it ? Rockstead Higo DLC

Were you thrilled with it ? Disappointed ? I had such high expectations that I was certain it wasn't going to meet them, but I was blown away.

What was it about the knife that made you "have to have it" despite the price ? Can't really say, it just spoke to me in every picture I saw of it.

Did you actually handle the knife first or did u order it online going souly on research and recommendations ? I read like the 3 reviews of it and jumped in headfirst, no regrets

Here it is, along with my most expensive "traditional" knife, a Hiroaki Ohta Model 20 :)

Bought a sage 2 and a BM 741 Onslaught for about 160 each. Sage is great Onslaught just had to have it, my first over 100 dollar knife, several years ago. I use them, along with other spydies, benchmades and kershaws, so I can't justify spending money over that because it get too expensive for me to really use. Of course, I want a strider, or at least a ZT is next up, (and in traditional knives, my next will be a GEC, not a case..). I am seeing many knives in the 500+ range that I really want but many more in the 1-200 range that I really want to own and use.
and by the way I admire all of the knives posted. always wanted a microtech.

There's no topping this.

Most I paid for a knife was $136 for a Spyderco Gayle Bradley Folder. Love it.

$600 for a Sniper Bladeworks Mini LPC.

Never got to handle this particular one as it was made custom for me.

Worth every penny, would do it again in a second.

I had handled a number of them at past blade shows and just really wanted one!

Just to add it is not a safe queen, I carry it and use it all the time!
