Expensive knives aka safe queens?

Another couple pix for fun :D

Our air had stopped working, so I shuffled under our house and found a pipe was frozen... It was about this time last year and running around 80+ in the house

I scrapped off the ice with what I had in my pocket, non flipper XM-18. Snapped a pic with my phone and AAA Fenix.

Who says nice knives don't see use :)

Carry and use my custom knives!! I know I CAN send them back to the maker for a refurb. I get the most pleasure out of USING them.

Best picture thread ever.... LOVE seeing knives used... I usually keep my seb in my toolbox at work and carry an endura for work days, just simply because mechanic-ing makes knives break prematurely, regardless of how hard use they are. Metal shavings, weld slag, grime, cutting steel belts, hoses, etc... Im not afraid to get down and dirty with any knife I own though, its what the intended purpose is, and thats why I spent money on it. Do I buy a 300 dollar ratchet and not use it? no. What happens if I break it? Matco hands me a new one. What happens if my blade fails, or my lock breaks? Spyderco will fix it! Arent warranties on great tools... great?

I'm in the "no safe queens" group. My knives range in price from $58.58 to $409 with a Sebenza and Hinderer topping the list. Those two are my most often carried knives. My daily cutting needs aren't even vaguely strenuous, (paper, cardboard, tape, callouses, occasional use as a blade scraper) but that's all my job requires. If it's ever needed, I'll hack on heavier stuff. I'm not going to abuse them but all my knives are tools.

I plan for my new (well over $100) Paramilitary to look like that in a few years.

Why spend the money if you're not going to use it? It's like buying a very expensive car and never driving it because you don't want the tires to get dirty.

Its not that I can't replace it, its I'm 15 with no job, so a 30-40 dollar knife is rather expensive in my eyes and if I lose it or scratch it up >.< im not going to be happy.

I'm an unemployed 15 year old and my hard use knife is a BM 710, I've got all kinds of scratches and marks on that thing. At the time I bought it the exchange rate meant I paid nearly $200 AUD including shipping. Why do I use it? Because thats what i bought it for, and thats what it's made for.

Edited to add: So Lo, that pic of the seb covered in grease was great.

I traded for this CGFBM, it's in the custom shop getting a makeover right now...and when I get it back, I'm going to beat the hell out of it.

I have been carrying this $300+ 806bk-901 for the last few weeks. Give it a couple more months, and I'll have that coating begging for mercy.

I bought these knives to use them, not to collect them.

I use all of my knives. I don't see any reason not too, considering that I can always simply buy another if necessary.

HOBOJO: Thanks for showing me that Busses can be used....

:p :D

(ducks and runs)

I guess I just dont understand people that put knives away without use.

Everything I buy I use. My Spyderco Military and Police3 see plenty of use. Its a tool...use it.

I don't even enjoy a knife if i don't use it. I get my pleasure having the knife in my pocket. To me a knife is a companion. I like my companion to come out and do stuff with me. Not some lazy useless thing sitting in a dark room by themselves all day :D. When I first started getting into knives I didn't use all of them and my enjoyment of knife collecting went way down. From that point on, I stopped it with safequeens. I have a couple knives I don't use but thats just because they arent perfect edcs for me and will be tradd/sold in the future (all but an extra 710 which will replace my current one when it wears out :))

The ones really put to use as a knife actually should are less than 100 bucks.

Not sure, but it sounds like your saying a knife over $100 shouldn't be used???
I can't think of many well made knives than you can get for $100 or less.
I know there are some out there, but not many IMO.
