This is a type of redwood burl that formed underground in a huge redwood. Most people are unable to guess that this is redwood because of the unusual coloring and the intense burl figure. But it is definitely redwood. The burl was about 6000 lbs when we started cutting. Unfortunately only smaller areas were this good looking.
These blocks have been stabilized with Resinol 90C using a dry vacuum pressure injection system. They have been heat cured for maximum durability. The weight is not nearly as heavy as when I stabilize spalted woods but is still about 30% heavier than before stabilizing. A good bit harder too.
The photos show the wood misted lightly with water so you can get a good idea how this wood will look finished. As with most burl there may be some small voids requiring a dab of epoxy if they don't trim out when shaping your handle.
#R12 SOLD$35 - 7.25"x2.5"x1.25
#R13 SOLD$30 - 6"x2.5"x1.25
Just pick which one you want and post it on this thread so nobody buys it out from under you. Shipping is Free in the US.
