Not sure what you mean by back "hatchet edge", however it's a good knife.. The knife has held up very well.. I don't use it much, but my students have beat the snot out of it, and it comes back for more.. I don't think theres a scratch on it.

According to cold steel's catalog the back edge of the knife is designed to be a "Hatchet edge" Mabey thats just on the newer models.

Nice thread. I have some pics lying around in this computer:

Mike,

That is a burgundy bead blasted G10 handle with bead blasted talonite blade... it was Trace Rinaldi's first talonite knife called the Chimera. The damascus knife to the left in the above picture you cited is also from Trace: a damascus Leo model.

I had the pleasure of working with both Rob Simonich and Trace Rinaldi with their first ever talonite knives. Rob stretched his Cetan design for me creating the Wambli; and Trace combined elements of 3 of his then current designs at my request to come up with the Chimera.

Rescue Mike How do you Like That CS outdoorsman, I like the looks of it but have my doubts about the utility of the back "hatchet edge"

MORIMOTOM : I Love that Piggy back sheath but you knives look WAY TOO CLEAN.:D

the sheaths are all brand new. some of the blades have been waiting a while for some pants.

the heavy heart has seen some use, as well as the meaner street. taking the badger hunting this week, so hopefully it will do some skinning.

but true enough, i dont get to use them as often as i would like.

The Sebenza was treated by Matt Cucchiara to a full "fizz" melt down treatment plus the "galaxy" graphics which we collaborated on.
