That's pretty much why I just want the coarse one - and to avoid having to flatten the stone so often. I only got 1 stone blank, anyway, because I ran into... some resistance. 
There is a 1x6" DMT, I think [?] ...it's just occurred to me that you could get the ends of them chamfered and use them without an EdgePro blank. [?] It seems that the EZE-Lap 42's are 3mm thick and the DMT's are 6m thick [?]
