Fällkniven HK9

Well I haven’t gotten to the woods due to being on orders etc but I’m still using this little fella heavily still. Didn’t post how the dangler sits so here’s some pics of that.

Don't know how I didn't see this till now but anywho,. Great review!!! I love Fallkniven blades!!!
This model is such a looker too!! 3G is some good quality stuff... Thanks for taking the time to post this!!!

UPDATE:

This sweet little HK9 has been on my hip for every hunting trip over these past years. I have only had to take it to the wet stones one time in all these years (since original post). I just strop it after use. I admit that I started exclusively carrying it in a F1 zytel sheath since cleaning off blood etc is so much easier. Here’s some updated pics of my go to hunting knife. Some minor scratches and wear but otherwise flawless!!!

That's the cowry x damascus model.........All Fallkniven fixed blades are made by Hattori ......That is a steel he has been.involved with the chemistry and production to some extent I believe... I know who to ask!!!
K KenHash ...any input??
That's correct. Cowry-X was developed by Daido Steel Co. around the same time Hitachi introduced their ZDP-189 and they are similar. Ichiro Hattori worked with Daido and as a result is the only Knifemaker in Japan that routinely uses Cowry-X. Until now he only used Cowry-X as a core for his damascus knives, but recently has done some with regular cladding. Hattori usually does HRC 63-65 on his knives. The steel itself can go HRC 67-70.

Thank you sir!!!! As usual you impress with your knowledge!!👍

Well my friend, doing excellent. Last hunting season was fruitful and I ended up dressing and butchering 5 deer total with this knife. It’s got more scratches, some tarnish character on the bolster, and a chip that is giving me the dickens to sharpen out so it’s staying lol. It’s hair popping sharp, and I don’t want to keep removing material for that tiny chip (must have done it on bone or something) so it is going to stay until I get it out over time.
