Great info thank you. I friggin LOVE these so this is great news. Take my money! We had a very small run at Blade Show. Full run will hopefully be released in a month or so. Should be widely available. We are hoping it will have a street price of between $50-$60. On our website it will likely be closer to $80, which we are aiming for at MSRP (could be slightly lower or slightly higher when the dust settles.)
Ok this sounds good. I talked to one dealer who thought it would only be available through Kabar.com... this sounds like it'll be going out to the dealers. This is the answer. The State & Union version also has much more handwork in the shop that goes into it. The KA-BAR version is closer to mass production, though there is much more labor that goes into this than a normal mass produced product.1095 steel and likely injection molded scales.
Since you are official, I would like to again say I wasn't critical in any way. More importantly if Kabar listens to you, you might suggest to Kabar to do the same thing to the other S&U knife, the $450 beauty. I have one and would look forward to dropping more money on a FORD version of that beauty! This is the answer. The State & Union version also has much more handwork in the shop that goes into it. I'd show it to a gunsmith for an opinion. But I sure can't be relied on for advice, just saying.Anyone who owns one of the these, I would appreciate knowing whether or not the thumb stub is reversible. It looks pressed in so I’m guessing yes, but I’d like to know for sure. Official Kabar apparently has me on ignore, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
