Always do, but it's probably closer to 15 than 17.

I strongly dislike the obtuse glassy convex factory edges. Mine all gets sharpened soon after landing.



I like thin edges on some knives, but on the CRK's I prefer a bit thicker. 17 dps with a 20 dps micro works well enough.

I too am not a huge fan, but my 31 gets used mostly on food and soft materials. My Inkosi gets used on zip ties, straps, wire and pretty much everything else I need to cut, so that has a steeper toothier edge.

My insingo Inkosi lives at 17° and carry’s a 1000 grit dirty polished edge. And it’s scary for what it is.

Does anyone sharpen 15 DPS on a sharpmaker? Asking about magnacut particularly, I'm thinking the extra toughness could handle it.
