Factory Seconds?

Ah, the heat treat thing was a joke. Ask Mr. Turber to explain it.

Sal - why don't you show a little more cruelty towards us and TELL us how the sell in the praking lot went...

I have a question about these "seconds", are they marked in any way to distinguish them from ones that aren't seconds. Or is it obvious when you see them that they are seconds. Just Curious.
Thanks
Eric

Outside of a dog, a Knife is man's best friend. Inside a dog it is very, very Dark.

I've got a Blackhawk that's a factory second, it's got a small "v" grind on the back of the blade, the spine I guess. It's not noticeable, why this particular knife is a second isn't obvious to me. My wife got it for me for Christmas, another of the many benefits of living in Colorado.

I knew I should've jumped on it when the company moved into Co.
Drat!
Mebbe next time.

Sal,

eaisaacs has a point. Are the Seconds somehow marked? Some seconds have blemishes that are so minor you would not know it from a new one. Someone may buy seconds and sell them off as new. Sounds like a Mad Dog scenario.

Blilious - It is as Motorep said with the small "V" notch. The reason it is a 2nd is not usually obvious.

Johnny - unfortunately, we believe that it does happen on occassion, even with the notch.

I recently received a second and it is clearly notched on the ricasso area of the blade just near where the edge starts. To avoid possible confusion I don' t believe the notches are on the spine of the blade as mentioned. My second only had a light blemish in a small area of its G10 scale. But all else is just fine.
