Morning men.Congratulations Daniel on having your shop pretty much completed. Well gotta run half way accross the U.P. today to get my wife,Daughter and my Military ID cards showing that I am 100% disabled from my service connected disabilities.Good thing is they have lots of stuff and programs for us disabled vets. Now my wife and daughter will have healthcare better than my old Blue Cross through the vetrans. I thank God everyday for getting this through because I am still fighting work for my duty disabilitiefor getting my back injured on the job. Tell you what the last 13 months have been rough mentallyso it feels good now t finaly have things going my way!!! Sorry to ramble.

Good to hear, I am glad they are doing the right thing... finally! I am happy things are going right.

rambler. :D ahhh its thursdays.. another day to... get through :D

I've been on a strop mission lately.. finding out how to really make the edges sharp.. I can say that I've successfully increased the sharpness with a belt grinder, sand paper on granite, and then stroping... on many of my knives.. I just haven't tried to improve the sharpness on my Bantang knives.. he makes em DAMN SHARP.

That .360 kwaiken I got from you Daniel... now pops hairs, oh yeah!

So when and what will be the next DFK creation? More oldtymers? More of these 3v fighters? something funky combo grind :D bring it on!

After this current run I will be making a riggers/sailing knife then it will be Legal EDC time! I already have a ton of handle material lined up, it will be cool. I have a half a dozen or so on order and will make a bunch available for sale as well.

...after that more customs! I have an entire notebook of orders I need to get to once I finish up my old book. Lots of fun!

Hmm, so I need to get some handle material to ya?

Nice pic. I took a pic of my shop today as I was enjoying the weather while my son played in the yard.

In about 3 days it will look like it snowed in my yard when that tree loses all its blossoms. I love how it looks in full bloom like this, but too bad it only lasts 3 or 4 days. It goes from bud to bloom so quick it is a joy to watch it change from hour to hour!

Can't wait to see the quality of work that will come from the new era of DFK!

Beautiful shot!

As far as handle material goes just let me know. I was looking for teak so I could try some and see if it handles a flared tube fastener, I think it will work nicely.

Morning guys!

Morning men. Went and got our military ID cards yesterday.I then took my wife and daughter shopping. You know we are going to see Gabriel Ingleasise on March 2nd so they have to have hot outfits to go. Me a pair of Levis and a hoodie and I am good to go. I am excited to see what all comes out of the new shop. Especially my new monster you are making for me. That is my personal retirement gift.Wish I could have it for March 23rd to show off at my retirement party! See how many of my old Swat team members drool over it and want to get one!!!

You have my kind of style! Our due date is March 2nd also.

That .360 is going to be nice, I can't wait to get to it! :D

Sitting in the hospital as I type. Got my kifaru doobie laid out, and watching season two of dexter as we wait for the contractions to get closer together. Good luck Daniel! Make sure to have as many creature comforts for you, helps keep you comfortable to take care of mom.

Man you guys are bringing back some good (and terrifying) memories! I still remember the events minute by minute of the three days or so in the hospital. For you curious types, the terrifying part was complications my wife had during delivery of the placenta, her uterus inverted and prolapsed. Very rare problem, i didnt even know it existed. Still the most exciting and exhilerating experiance i have ever been through! Good luck XxdrpxX!

Daniel, i have been playin with the idea of a stone finished knife rather than sandpaper, other than the typical Arkansas sharpening stones, do you have a recommendation for something i might be able to find natural that would work well? I am looking to use it for the entire flats and to follow the use of files. I think it could ad an interesting touch to a knife, or i could just be a gluton for punishment by trying this!

Today is the One Year Anniversary of the ZT/Hinderer Flipper 0560/0561 thread.....pre-ordered both mine before there was a public pre-order list, from kershawguy, as always.

Over 3700 posts of KnifeVultures going totallyFreakinNutz, over there.

Still no bone-chilling weather here, yet this year. 0.5" snow. 55* yesterday. Frogs startin' to holler. Easter flowers blooming.
Menopause, coupled with frequent mood swings.
New computer program--mandatory training--@ work, but they had it installed on the same junky server that's been outdated since 2003. Being serviced by kids who only speak Xbox and were flipping burgers last week. Clusterfrigg.
Waiting for a heavy box of supplies from Grafs & Sons,in Mexico,MO.
Menopause, coupled with frequent thermostat adjustments.
Strong black coffee.
Really grateful to have a heated shop and surround sound.

Still miss reefer, after all these years.

Screw the haircut, but I gotta real job.

Off to work.

Morning men.Xander I know what you mean about the excitement of having a child and the mother having complications. My wife with our second child had problems exactly like your wife. Here I am excited about having a son and they are rushing my wife off to do an emergency D and C to get all of the placenta out.Talk about going from elation to depression and worry all at the same time.Thank god everything worked out. My youngest was born almost 4 weeks early and that was a blessing because she was born with strep pneumonia. If my wife would have carried her to term she probably would not have made it.

12 hours a day, 5 days a week, 8hrs on Sat. Just enough time for coffee, then get ready for work.
I shouldn't complain, it's good money, and it's only for a few more weeks. I just wish I had time to sharpen a knife!!

And the snow storm has begun! Had only a small amount of flowers drop yesterday, maybe a handfull, but today is the firs day it has really started to drop.

Time to get the little one loaded up and head to the fleamarket for a bit, fresh churros, coffee, and knife/tool hunting!

Sounds wild!

As far as stones go I want to try waterstones eventually, they sound like a great way to finish a knife. I have heard Aluminum oxide also works great.

That is a lot of hours, I'm there with you. (lol besides the money) I want a day off! Same thing with the knives too... I can't wait to get back on it. Hang in there!

Nice pic, keep us updated! Churros.... mmmm.

It has been another long day in the shop here and I'm thinking I have one day left of finishing then I'm moving in!!!

Well I went with a friend to pick up his Gen 4 Glock 23.Turn around and get talking to the salesman and end up bringing home a Benelli Nova Tactical 12 gauge with the ghost ring sights. Lets just say I got him to come way off the price they had it listed at!!

Morning men. Thanks ImWilson I have been needing a new shotgun for a while.I have 2 Mossberg 500's that I bought when my son was a baby and that is almost 26 years ago. Nothing wrong with them they have been reliable and still look good. My son kept telling me I have everything pretty modern but needed a Benelli. One thing I have enough 12 gauge shells to last a couple of lifetimes. Lots of 00 and #4 buck and lots of #6 and #7 1/2 shells plus a lot of slugs.

Morning! and congrats! on the new Benelli....Benelli's ROKKK!

Older B'rer has two,for his bird hunting. That are both sleek & slick.

Let's watch Tom Knapp!
