hi everyone I am currently living in china so i get an "opportunity" to see a lot of the fake knives. Anyway i have seen a chinese knife company called Land producing knives with an axis like lock under their own name i never posted about this since i wasn't sure if benchmade's patent appiled world wide or only in the usa.

but the real worry was that when i was in jinan last week i saw 3 different types of benchmade marked knives with an "axis" lock. the knives looked fairly decent when closed but the lockup was terrible and possibly dangerous when they were oppened i didn't notice which models they were i just remember they had g10 handles.

On a another note there were a few fairly realistic coppies of the benchmade skirmish and spyderco uk penknife. as well as very good copies of the boker subcom and hyper. as well as the normal junk that has random names put on them. hehe like a benchmade 525 buterfly knife :)

I just hope the Chinese manufacturers are are stupid enough to continue to screw up the names of their counterfeits like they've sometimes done in the past (I've seen a Chinese counterfeit with the name, Benkmade on it). Seeing Stenchmade, Frenchmade, or Trenchmade written on a knife would give me a good laugh.:D

Regards,

some of them are stupid mistakes like benchmade 525 on a buterfly knife or on obvious fake knives. the subcom i mentioned is only distingushable as a fake by the fact that it has a black plain edge blade with a black scale witch is not an official color option otherwise all trademarks were perfect, my bet is the real factory put some overtime in to make a few on the side with that one. others you can tell by build quality and the fact that the g10 feels more brittle and grayish in color rather than dark black (the uk pen knife).

others that are actually interesting such as a larger boker trance with a serated front half and assisted opening.
